Storify Daily Entry (2026-10-27)
From 2026-10-26 07:57 to 2026-10-27 07:57 UTC, repair work and validation ran alongside scheduled workflows. A retry telemetry change moved through review and merge while its branch smoke check failed. Later, a scheduled installer failure prompted a separate download repair; that PR merged after a broad, mixed set of smoke checks. Work queue workflows continued to reach different failure points.
These are representative episodes from the prefetched logs and their continuation. Recorded parent and root runs were missing from some episode lineage, so the links below establish observed chronology and job outcomes, not a complete causal chain.
Episode Highlights
Retry telemetry met a smoke evidence gap. On PR #71934, which adds harness retry records to spans and usage artifacts, a maintainer requested
/smoke-copilotat 12:01 UTC. §40319540005 failed in the agent job at Playwright installation and unified session checks; its detection and safe output jobs succeeded. A later request to resolve merge conflicts led to another branch update, and the PR merged at 20:04 UTC. The failed smoke run does not establish whether retry telemetry itself worked. An installer failure became a reviewed repair. §40373431568 stopped at Install AWF binary, before its agent ran. Pelikhan opened PR #72157 to improve download retries, timeouts, and diagnostics. Review feedback prompted revisions; Smoke Claude and Smoke Copilot succeeded, while Smoke Agy failed in its engine and conformance checks. The PR merged at 01:03 UTC. No observed run repeats the original transient download failure, so live recovery remains unverified.
The work queue path stayed uneven. Engine Conformance Dispatcher and Smoke Work Queue Dispatcher failed while processing trusted work queue controls. In the latter, the agent succeeded, but safe output processing and verified dispatch failed. Later, formal verification passed both formal check jobs but failed its analysis handoff; Smoke Work Queue failed during agent execution. These boundaries differ, and the audits do not show one shared cause.
Feedback Loops Across Workflows
The existing Smoke-evidence validation loop is mixed: human requests and review comments led to more branch checks, yet the failed telemetry smoke and mixed installer PR smoke limit what can be inferred from passing checks. The Publication-boundary repair loop remains unresolved across work queue control processing and analysis handoff. A new Release-installer recovery loop moved from a scheduled failure to a merged repair, with the original failure mode still awaiting a live retest.
Human Interventions That Mattered
On PR #71934, Pelikhan explicitly requested a smoke run and later asked for merge conflict resolution; the branch was updated before merge. On PR #72157, Pelikhan opened the installer repair, and review comments led to changes before merge. Those actions changed the review and code trajectory; the available runs do not prove that either original failure mode is gone.
Signals to Watch Next
Watch for a successful live run that records the new retry telemetry, a repeat installer download under transient failure conditions, and work queue runs that complete both control publication and formal handoff.
