v3.1.0 — Reading cards, long press, colours

Notes Tech 3.1.0: notes open to be read, as cards in their colour; a long press for the note's actions; eight pastel colours. Your notes, folders and vaults are kept.

Before you update

• Installed from F-Droid? Wait for F-Droid. F-Droid builds and signs Notes Tech with its own key, so these APKs cannot update an F-Droid install; 3.1.0 reaches F-Droid a few days after this release, once F-Droid has built it.
• Installed from GitHub? Any APK below updates 3.0.0, or a 2.0.x, in place.
• The database moves to schema 10 (one column added for the colours, every note kept). Android refuses to install an older version over 3.1.0 in any case.

What's new

• Reading: tapping a note opens it to be read, drawn as a card in its colour — title, rendered text, date of the last change — with an Edit button. The ✓ tick saves and goes back to reading. A blank note opens to be written.
• Long press on a note in the list: Edit, Move to trash (the message offers Undo) or Delete permanently (after a confirmation). The ⋮ menu of a note gains Delete permanently too.
• Colours: eight pastel colours per note, from the ⋮ menu, to tell your notes apart in the list. A vault note shows its colour only while its vault is open. Like its tags, the colour is stored outside the vault's own encryption (in the encrypted database) — the privacy policy says so.
• Vaults: trashing or erasing a note of a closed vault first asks for its secret; "+" in a closed vault now creates the note once the vault is unlocked (it used to need a second tap).
• One blue, the checkerboard's, for the main buttons; destructive actions stay red.
• Legal pages dated instead of numbered, and checked against the code.
• Build toolchain moved to AGP 9 and Kotlin 2.4. Still no network permission: the same 4 permissions as 3.0.0.

• notes-tech-universel-3.1.0.apk: works on every phone. If in doubt, pick this one.
• notes-tech-arm64-v8a-3.1.0.apk: almost every phone since 2016, smaller.
• notes-tech-armeabi-v7a-3.1.0.apk: older 32-bit phones.
• notes-tech-x86_64-3.1.0.apk: emulators.
