Report → Ad-hoc builds one-off charts from metrics you pick — useful for comparisons and exports, not day-to-day transaction drill-down.
- Open Report → Ad-hoc.
- Central: choose agent(s) and/or rollups. Embedded: the local agent is implicit.
- Select a metric (transaction average, count, percentile, gauge, etc.) and supporting fields (transaction type, percentile value, gauge name).
- Set the time range and time zone, then Run report.
Results appear as a chart/table you can inspect for a specific question (“what was p95 for Web last Tuesday?”).
Ad-hoc reports are not a substitute for the Transaction pages (overview, percentiles, traces). Use Transactions for interactive exploration, slow-trace lists, and plugin detail.
Ad-hoc is best for custom slices and sharing a fixed metric view — keep reports focused; very wide agent or metric selections can be slow on Central.
