Narrative of what operators should notice when upgrading through the 0.14.x line. Each section links the matching GitHub release (full notes + *-dist.zip) and, where present, the auto Full Changelog compare.

Production today: prefer latest stable — 0.14.7 (2026-05-11).
Pre-release tip: 0.14.8-beta.5 (2026-09-08) — try in non-prod; see Administration-Storage (H2 cache) and Health endpoints.

Upgrade landmarks (read first)

When you cross… What changes for you
→ 0.14.0 Agent Java 8+ (no Java 6/7). Much stronger Java 17-era support. Large Central/agent dependency refresh; Jakarta EE package support.
→ 0.14.1 Security hardening (CVEs + UI sanitization). Central cluster encrypt moves to PKCS12 keystore (see Central Collector Cluster).
→ 0.14.2 Fine-grained Cassandra client config (datastax-driver.conf) — Cassandra Client Configuration. Important Central ingest/rollup fixes from the 0.14.2 betas.
→ 0.14.4 (skips a stable 0.14.3) Central requires Java 17+. Infinispan 15.x. Cassandra config / encryption-key property fixes from the 0.14.3 betas.
→ 0.14.5 Broader JDK 25 / modern logging stack (slf4j 2.x, Logback 1.5 fix). gRPC bump. Admin config export fix.
→ 0.14.6 Configurable Jackson max nesting; JDK proxy identification; Platform MBeanServer wait; pool/retry hardening.
→ 0.14.7 Must-have if on Java 8 agent after 0.14.5: H2 2.2.224 (#1172). Docker entrypoint sed separator fix (#1171).
→ 0.14.8-beta.x Central Docker → JDK 25; ASM/JDK 26 weaving; Spring/JAX-RS/UI fixes; H2 cache + reclaim chart in Storage UI (beta.4+); default H2 cache Fixed 32 MB (beta.5+). GET /health becomes liveness — use /readiness for Cassandra/H2 probes (Health endpoints).

Some beta tags exist only on Releases with a compare link and little/no prose — still listed below so the line is complete.
