The official Gno.land UX is built around Markdown.

This issue is to get feedback and discuss how we could improve the overall UX with better typography.

Related with #439.
Part of #540.

Can be used for testing: https://staging.gno.land/r/demo/markdown_test.

Hey @oliverasistemas and @samwang3,

We wholeheartedly invite you to contribute in any capacity that you can.

Apart from the core team working on the project, we rely on the good will and knowledge of people like you to help us make great open source software.

Nobody is assigned to specific tasks, so if you find something interesting that you'd love to do - do it!
You found something that can be improved? That's awesome, open a PR or discussion and we can take it from there. The team, and other active contributors, are here to assist you in any way we can, be it with answers to specific questions or suggestions on how you can improve an implementation.

We are very active on Discord, and I encourage you to join - this is where you'll meet other active contributors and get to hear about what they're working on. Additionally, we also host regular AMAs, workshops etc with the community, so it's a great way to stay in touch with everything Gno

To improve the user experience it's important to define the vision of the role played by gno.land at launch and in the future.

Because there is a thousands possible ways to redesign such a page; a lot of those ways would actually improve it, but they also wouldn't mean much in the end.

There is a vision to define or communicate, for instance some questions:

  • Is gno.land going to become a portal to everything GNO related?
  • What is the final audience? Devs only or broad users?
  • Is gno.land like a wikipedia where pages are realms?
  • What kind of product is gno.land? Who owns this product, who controls it?
  • Are pretty sure at this point logos is not going to be used, or is logos going to be a TUI client to access gno.land? In that case, is gno.land going to be without pictures?
  • Do we really want to go on calling everyone "gnomes", even if they don't not like it, or should we keep that lore for gno.land, separating the tech and blockchain from the theme.
  • Should the gnome thing be compartimentized to a subpart of gno.land with gno.land remaining more neutral?

These are only a few questions. I would be interested in seeing the questions that others have.

Here are some things that can make for a great UX (user experience) and UI (user interface) for a website:

  1. Clear and concise navigation: The website should be easy to navigate and the menus should be clearly labeled and easy to understand.

  2. Responsive design: The website should be designed to work well on different devices, including desktops, tablets, and mobile phones.

  3. Fast load times: A fast-loading website is essential for a good user experience, so it's important to optimize images and minimize the use of heavy scripts.

  4. Intuitive user interface: The interface should be designed in a way that is intuitive and easy to use. The user should be able to quickly find what they are looking for and complete tasks without difficulty.

  5. Consistency in design: The website should have a consistent design throughout, including color schemes, typography, and layout with Cosmos space theme in mind.

  6. Clear and concise content: The content on the website should be easy to read and understand. Headings and subheadings should be used to break up text, and important information should be highlighted.

  7. Use of white space: White space is the area around and between design elements. A good use of white space can make the website look clean and uncluttered, which can improve the user experience. Although Cosmos users have preferred to darkmode as well so this feature should be added for alternative.

  8. Accessibility: The website should be designed with accessibility in mind, so that it can be used by people with disabilities.

  9. Mobile-friendly design: With more and more people accessing the internet on their mobile devices, it's important that the website is designed with a mobile-first approach.

  10. Feedback mechanisms: The website should have feedback mechanisms such as confirmation messages, error messages, and status indicators to help the user understand what's happening and what they need to do next.
