Alya's Journey #127

Description

@alhakana

Hey, I’m Alya Al Hakan, a Master’s student in Computer Science at the Faculty of Computing in Belgrade with experience in backend engineering and a strong interest in blockchain and Web3.

Over the past weeks, I’ve been diving deep into blockchain in general and the Gno ecosystem: I set up my own Home Realm, while also exploring most of the documentation to better understand the structure and design of the system. I also learned a lot from online resources and tutorials, which helped me connect theory with practice.

Professionally, I’ve worked as a Software Engineer at N26 on a trading platform (Kotlin, Spring Boot/WebFlux, Redis, React, microservices) and at United Cloud EON TV (Spring Boot, Ignite, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes). I also spent some time working as a Java course instructor, where I taught programming fundamentals and guided students through practical exercises. Earlier, I worked as a Teaching Assistant, where I taught Real-Time Operating Systems (C, FreeRTOS), Operating Systems (Assembly, C), Programming in C, Object-Oriented Programming (Java), and Software Components (Java, Maven, Gradle, Microservices, Spring)

I’d like to keep learning and contribute in ways that bring real value to the system. A special thanks to @leohhhn for his guidance and the meetups he organizes — the last one I attended was not only well-structured but also inspiring, and it motivated me to think about how I can get more involved.

Excited to keep building and collaborating!
