As discussed in:

We'd like to use hostmacher to replace matchlist.

And we introduce a better DialContext to do a full host/IP check, otherwise the attackers can still bypass the allow/block list by a 302 redirection.

No breaking changes.

Well it's not within this scope of this PR - but it's related, it might be good to note somewhere that if a hostname of some sort is matched by the BLOCKED_DOMAINS hostmatcher it cannot be "unblocked" if it's matched by the ALLOW_DOMAINS list.

Such that it cannot be confused that if someone blocks the whole /24 of a ip subnet and only want 1 specific ip to be allowed on that subnet, that it won't work.

I had a quick look, it seems like that normal users can also get this error - I don't think it makes sense that a normal user should check ALLOWED_DOMAINS/ALLOW_LOCALNETWORKS/BLOCKED_DOMAINS settings as that's only appropriate for the administrator.

Then what about "please ask the admin to check ALLOWED_DOMAINS/ALLOW_LOCALNETWORKS/BLOCKED_DOMAINS settings"?

I want to expose the details here, otherwise many junior admins will open issues in github ......

I get that.

Then what about "please ask the admin to check ALLOWED_DOMAINS/ALLOW_LOCALNETWORKS/BLOCKED_DOMAINS settings"?

That's possible, another form could be "You cannot import from disallowed hosts that the server administrator has configured".

NVM that ^ - that would only work if it could have a link to documentation about the ALLOWED_DOMAINS etc.

The test-cases all seems good(the input and desired results), the implementation seems to do what it sussposed to do. LGTM - goodluck with finding your other LGTM ;)
