what does type mean in rule part?

I don't understand the meaning of type in rule part. If I have already created a mapping json, can I just type its name in index part?

In How to Use section step 2, you said: Create the associated Elasticsearch index, document type and mappings if possible, if not, Elasticsearch will create these automatically., but in step 5 you also indicate to write mappings as Rules. I am wondering if I have already created a mapping can I skip defining rules in river.toml? And when I loading data, there is no information printed in console, is that normal?

Your mapping is just for ES, not for go-mysql-elasticsearch, you must define rules to let it know how to sync your mysql data into ES.

is invalid, remove .string, .integer, .double, we don't need it.
