Supported Networks Release Notes — Oct 2026

The Supported Networks pages now track networks registry v0.8.8, drop outdated chain counts, and steer developers to Subgraph Studio and The Graph Market with "Get API Key" buttons on every network page. All changes ship on the chain-deprecations-102126 branch of the docs repo.

Registry v0.8.8 deprecations

Eight networks lost all Subgraphs and Substreams support in registry v0.8.8, so they drop out of the Supported Networks table. Their custom pages are removed, and every old URL now redirects to /supported-networks/.

Network Removed URL Why
Fuse /supported-networks/fuse/ Backstop indexing removed
Fuse Testnet /supported-networks/fuse-testnet/ Backstop indexing removed
Kaia /supported-networks/kaia/ Studio support removed
Kaia Kairos Testnet /supported-networks/kaia-testnet/ Studio support removed
NEAR /supported-networks/near-mainnet/ Studio, Firehose and Substreams removed
NEAR Testnet /supported-networks/near-testnet/ Studio, Firehose and Substreams removed
Viction /supported-networks/viction/ Studio support removed
zkSync Sepolia /supported-networks/zksync-era-sepolia/ Studio support removed
  • NEAR Subgraphs guide removed. /subgraphs/guides/near/ and its legacy aliases (/cookbook/near/, /subgraphs/cookbook/near/, /supported-networks/near/) redirect to /supported-networks/.
  • Soneium loses Studio support but keeps its Substreams-only page.
  • Redirects live in nginx.conf, so they work in production but not under pnpm dev.

Network details table

The table at the top of each network page now separates who handles payments from who handles indexing, and lists a single preferred Substreams provider.

Row Before Now
Subgraphs Subgraph Studio (API Keys) • Community Indexing • Network Rewards Payments: Subgraph Studio (link) on one line; Indexing: The Graph Network, Community Support, or Subgraph Studio on the next, matching the network's tag in the main table
Substreams The Graph Market • Pinax Network • Data Nexus Full Service: The Graph Market; Pinax Network only where the registry has no The Graph Market endpoint; Data Nexus never listed
Chain Docs Raw URL "[Chain] Docs" link
  • Both rows stack their values on separate, right-aligned lines.
  • Rootstock, which has rewards and community indexing, now shows only "Indexing: The Graph Network".

Subgraphs section

Network pages now walk developers through the Subgraph Studio UI instead of publishing from the CLI, because Studio can now deploy and publish Subgraphs on every network with community support.

  • Five-step Quick Start: create in Studio → build with graph init → deploy with graph deploy → publish from the Studio dashboard → query with an API key. graph publish stays as a linked alternative.
  • Studio indexing warning: networks with no Studio indexing show "This network does not have Subgraph Studio indexing support. Publish your Subgraph to The Graph Network to get indexing support on [Chain]." plus the registry's backstop description. Seven networks show it today: Anubis, Boba, Boba Testnet, Fraxtal, Injective EVM, Rootstock and Rootstock Testnet.
  • Signal guidance by tier: networks with indexing rewards recommend 1,000 GRT, and say a Subgraph at that level "will be likely to be indexed quickly". Community-only networks recommend 500 GRT and say it "will automatically be indexed".
  • New "Search Graph Explorer for Existing Subgraphs" section before the Quick Start: filter by network, search by contract address, test in the playground. Hidden on BSC and Polygon, which keep their own "Find Existing Subgraphs" card grids.
  • Consolidated CLI steps: Step 2 (install, verify, graph init) and Step 3 (graph auth, graph deploy) are each one commented code block.
  • Graph Node Dev Mode for local checks: the optional local verification uses gnd --watch instead of a docker-compose Graph Node.
  • Copy edits: new intro ("Subgraphs remove that work…"), shorter Step 1, reordered publishing benefits (Curators first), and the network value callout removed.

Substreams and provider copy

The Graph Market is now the provider the docs name first and, wherever it serves a network, the only one.

  • "Supported in two ways" intros on 22 pages use new copy with bold product names. Subgraphs are "the blockchain indexing standard perfect for small to medium-sized projects that need hosted APIs". Substreams are "a real-time streaming engine for transaction-heavy projects, high-throughput chains, and institutions that need custom data infrastructure".
  • Studio-only networks (Arc, Hoodi, Linea Sepolia, Polygon Amoy, Tempo, Unichain Sepolia, X Layer) keep a caveat that guaranteed indexing via The Graph Network isn't available yet.
  • Provider fallback: 10 networks have no The Graph Market endpoint in the registry and still name Pinax Network: Arbitrum Sepolia, Celo, BSC Chapel, Linea, Linea Sepolia, OP Sepolia, Polygon Amoy, Tempo, Unichain Sepolia and X Layer.
  • API key step now reads "Install the Substreams CLI and get a key at The Graph Market."

Layout and design

Every network page gets call-to-action buttons and a clearer section structure.

  • "Get API Key" buttons sit beside every "Indexing [Chain] with Subgraphs" heading (linking to Subgraph Studio API keys) and every "Indexing [Chain] with Substreams" heading (linking to The Graph Market, or Pinax where The Graph Market doesn't serve the network). They use the design system's primary button.
  • "Explore" buttons sit beside the "Find Existing Subgraphs" headings on BSC and Polygon, linking to Graph Explorer.
  • Larger headings: every section heading is one level larger, and the network title matches the section heading size.
  • Page breaks before the Subgraphs, Substreams, Find Existing Subgraphs and Guides sections.
  • Guides cards size to their content instead of a fixed 256px height.
  • BSC headings say "BSC" instead of "BNB Smart Chain" so the buttons fit beside them; the page title is unchanged.
  • NON-EVM chip in the Supported Networks table is now the design system's "solar" yellow, alongside the turquoise BASE and green EXTENDED chips.

Site-wide copy

The docs no longer state how many chains The Graph supports, since fixed counts go stale as networks are added and deprecated.

  • Homepage hero: "…powers applications, analytics, and AI on 60+ chains" now ends at "AI".
  • Homepage Supported Networks section: "60+ networks" is now "a growing list of networks". The "See all N networks" button keeps its live count from the registry.
  • About page: "across 60+ networks" removed.
  • Gateways overview: "dozens of chains" is now "many chains" (two places).

Fixes

  • Hydration error on every Studio-indexed network page (such as Base and Ethereum), caused by a paragraph nested inside a paragraph in the Subgraphs template.
  • Raw markdown links in the Substreams API key step, which showed [The Graph Market](…) as text on Polygon and every other page using the Substreams templates.
  • Arc now lists The Graph Market (added to the registry) and sends readers there for an API key instead of Pinax.

For maintainers

Network pages now read support details straight from the registry, so most future changes are registry edits rather than page edits.

File What it does
supportedNetworks/NetworkContext.tsx Passes the current registry network to custom-content templates; drives the Studio warning, backstop description, signal amount and rewards wording
supportedNetworks/GetApiKeyButton.tsx ProductSectionHeading (heading + Get API Key) and ExploreSectionHeading (heading + Explore)
customContent/_subgraph-community.mdx Studio UI flow; hideExplorerSearch prop hides the Explorer section
customContent/README.md Documents the Subgraphs templates and the CTA headings
nginx.conf Redirects for the removed pages and NEAR guide
  • To change a network's indexing or signal guidance, edit its services.subgraphs entries or issuanceRewards in the networks registry.
  • To add a CTA heading by hand, pass the heading text as title, not as children. MDX wraps children in a paragraph inside the h2, which causes a hydration error.
  • Commits on chain-deprecations-102126: 03d891a2, 425832e8, bb8a9c3e, 7891dff5, plus the NON-EVM chip color change.
