A linked worktree's index is an overlay on a shared read-only base instead of a full copy of its
donor (802 MB -> 15 MB per worktree on a 549k-symbol index; ABI 27). Writing through it needs
SQLite 3.53 (Node 24 or the native core); elsewhere a worktree is indexed in full. See CHANGELOG
