Thank you for your interest in OpenTaiko!
This is version 0.2.0, and the first release of the second generation of the game. The changes from the first generation are too great to be compared, but here is a summary of what has been implemented so far:
- Runs on an object oriented game engine based on SDL2 (for graphics) and SFML2 (for sound).
- Supports horizontal splitscreen, local multiplayer.
- Structured user interface and menu system, navigable with only four keys or buttons (a fifth is currently required to cycle main menu options).
- Customisable assets.
- Three different in-game languages (English, Japanese and Norwegian Bokmål).
Keep in mind that OpenTaiko is still very much a work in progress, there are many missing or unfinished features, so stay tuned for future updates.
