v2.1

The first release.

  • remapd makes the extra buttons on a Bluetooth TV remote work from an ADB shell, without root. It gives each button the key it's meant to send, presses keys Android would otherwise ignore, and can open apps or run commands.
  • The app sets up buttons when you press them. The Buttons screen listens for a press and shows the button's code and what Android makes of it. You choose what the button does: send an Android key, open an app, do nothing, or run a shell command. The app writes remapd.conf and restarts remapd.
  • remapd starts by itself after a restart. The app starts it through wireless debugging on the TV, signing in with its own adb key. After the one-time setup it needs no root, no Shizuku and no computer.
  • remapd comes inside the app. The app puts it on the TV, and replaces it when the app brings a newer version.

remapd-2.1.apk is the app, with remapd 1.3 inside. remapd-1.3-arm and remapd-1.3-arm64 are remapd on its own, for setting it up without the app (the 32-bit one runs on 64-bit devices too).

The app is signed with the key whose SHA-256 fingerprint is E3:CA:25:30:F9:3A:91:B0:9C:27:88:9D:52:41:3D:5E:B5:E4:82:34:C4:51:4A:45:C2:BC:D7:42:25:76:FD:7F (also in the README). To check a download: apksigner verify --print-certs remapd-2.1.apk.
