v10.2.0 — Configurable user message height + optional sticky pin
What's new
Two new Claude Code settings for user message layout:
- Collapsed User Message Lines (default
3, range 3-8) — controls how many lines a long user message shows before "Show more". Previously fixed at ~5 lines; the default now matches Claude Code's own ~3 lines. - Sticky User Message (default off) — controls Claude Code's built-in pinning of the latest user message to the top of the conversation. Turning it off lets the message scroll away normally, freeing up screen space to read the agent's reply — especially helpful on shorter screens.
Both settings require a reload (Restart Extension Host) to apply.
Why
Claude Code recently started pinning the latest user message to the top of the chat. Combined with the extension's previously-larger collapsed height, this consumed a lot of vertical space on smaller screens. The new defaults restore Claude Code's original behavior, and the settings let you tune both to taste.
