What's fixed
User messages lost RTL alignment after Claude Code 2.1.241 (Aug 2026).
Claude Code now renders an invisible screen-reader heading ("You: …") as the first child of every user message. The RLM direction mark injected into it poisoned the next detection pass — the marks-only text node was read as the "first text", contained no letters, and RTL styling was removed and tracking lost, leaving Hebrew messages stuck left-aligned.
RTL detection now:
- skips visually-hidden screen-reader elements, and
- strips BiDi control marks (LRM/RLM/ALM) from text nodes before treating them as content.
Bonus: detection reads the real message text again (not the "You: " prefix), so Hebrew messages full of English code identifiers also align right via the first-strong-char rule.
What's new
- Blinking update indicator: when a newer release is found on GitHub, the status bar shows
RTL: Update available (vX.Y.Z)and blinks until updated. - Faster update cadence: periodic update checks now default to every 5 hours (was 24). Configurable via
Update Check Interval Hours; 0 = startup only.
