Overview

We need to create a guide about designing logos for designers at Hack for LA to reference when they work on logos

Open the wiki page in a new tab, copy the instructions for each part into the section labeled 'Tasks' at the bottom of this issue, and complete each task listed.

"We need a version of the logo that contains the entire wordmark... Early in a brands' life, people are not familiar with it, as the brand evolves it becomes iconic and they can drop the wordmark part of it, think Nike, Mastercard, Starbucks, etc. We are in the early stages of this brand."

When making this issue, create a template figma with logo studies mockups. Use the samples from here to get started https://www.figma.com/file/zGyhV8Z6sLohatYAnFoxQm/100Automations-Project-Board?node-id=1593%3A525
The above has a mockup of multiple tool bars so that you can put your favicon on different backgrounds and evaluate them against other recognized logos.

Overview

We need to create a guide about designing logos for designers at Hack for LA to reference when they work on logos

Action Items

  • Gather examples of how other projects or volunteers have designed logos (if applicable), adding each example as a link in the resources section below
    • Once done, remove the "Guide: Gather Examples" label and add the "Guide: Research" label
  • Research existing information about logo design effective practices in relevant resources, online articles, etc.
    • Once done, remove the "Guide: Research" label and add the "Guide: Draft Guide" label
  • Create a draft guide, either in markdown format in this issue or a google doc in the [ux/ui google drive]
    • Once done, remove the "Guide: Draft Guide" label and add the "Guide: Review Guide" label
  • Review the guide with UX/UI community of practice
