Pairs with engine-service-v0.1.130, unchanged from 7.58.0: this is a client and plugin release with no engine cut.

Fixed

  • A plugin that updates before its CLI no longer blocks the session, under any CLI from 7.55.0 on (nexus-rcoze). nx-hook in conexus 7.55.0 to 7.57.x exits 2 on a hook verb it does not know, and exit 2 blocks prompts, Bash calls and MCP tool calls. hooks.json now runs every verb one of those releases lacks through a stdlib shim that skips it with a notice instead. That covers three hooks the 7.58.0 plugin still ran directly (auto-approve, pre-close-verification, subagent-stop), which a 7.55.0 CLI does not register. A new release-battery gate fires every hook against each published CLI from 7.55.0 on.
  • Closing a bead through bd update --status closed no longer skips the close gate (nexus-2b24o). The pre-close verification gate matched only bd close and bd done, so the update spelling, and a close fed through bd batch or bd import, closed a bead with no review check. The phase-review close gate had the same blind spot for the update spelling.
  • Installing or removing the nexus daemon's autostart unit can no longer hang on launchctl or systemctl (nexus-k9i56). Three of those calls ran with no timeout; every call now carries a 120 s bound.
  • nx index no longer warns about knowledge collections' extractor (nexus-kk4ut). The warning was stale: aspect extraction already routes prose to the general-prose extractor.

Added

  • The MCP connection hooks held back from 7.58.0 are live (nexus-veh77). At session start the plugin waits, up to 15 s and fail-open, for nx-mcp to connect before the first turn, and says so if it gives up; a mid-session disconnect is reported once. Both run through the shim, so an older CLI skips them for one session instead of blocking.
