A bug-fix and maintenance release covering the complete delta since v0.37.0.

Fixes and maintenance

  • Stream borrowed BM25 snapshots through atomic publication while retaining the snapshot format, lease-owned staging/cleanup and generation ordering. The optional native save(destination) argument is a backward-compatible addition supporting this fix (#452, #454).
  • Fix fresh-checkout root builds to compile the native addon before TypeScript and the real built-CLI smoke. The previously failing cold-build ordering was retained as evidence and the corrected exact four-command gate passed in a fresh owned checkout (#455).
  • Strengthen Pi 1.3 real-runner prompt tests, linked caller-citation path/range assertions, and bounded contributor watcher-failure diagnostics (#448, #451, #453). The diagnostics are test instrumentation, not a production watcher repair.
  • Update internal runtime p-queue to 10.0.0, development tsup to 9.0.0, and locked Zod/test/lint maintenance dependencies (#446, #447, #449).

Compatibility

The published consumer requirement remains Node >=22.13.0. Development tooling requires ^22.19.0 || ^24.11.0 || >=26.0.0; Node 24.11+ LTS is recommended for contributors. Internal p-queue10 now rejects custom requestIntervalMs > 2147483647; Node previously overflow-clamped such timers to 1ms. This release does not claim every possible configuration is unchanged or add unrelated validation.

Verification already observed

  • The exact serial npm run build && npm run typecheck && npm run lint && npm run test:run gate passed on Node26.9.0, with 143 files passed / 1 skipped and 2,828 tests passed / 6 skipped. Existing skips were unchanged.
  • Actual source-built CLI indexing/search/update/reopen, native Rust parsing and modest UTF-8 streaming persistence, ESM/CJS OpenCode object contracts, and bounded loopback-only hybrid queue operations passed on macOS ARM64 with Node26.9.0 and genuine official checksum-verified Node22.13.0.
  • Release PR #455 passed its final-head checks. Its CI Node22 job switched to genuine Node22.13.0 and passed the built-CLI and fresh packed-identity smoke with engine-strict enabled.

These are local macOS ARM64 and explicitly linked CI observations, not an all-platform runtime claim. No original 250MB/OOM reproduction, historical watcher-timeout repair, retrieval-quality/performance result, frozen comparison/regrade or baseline update is asserted. Windows ARM64 remains experimental under the existing release-build policy. Registry-installed packages, publication provenance and normal-profile published OMP execution are not claimed by these prepublication notes.
