Added

  • MIT licence, with a /start step to reassign or remove it in generated projects.
  • "Which do you need?" guidance on the site and in the README, and an honest comparison with
    create-cloudflare.
  • .claude/start/ for the branches /start reads on demand: Claude on GitHub, custom domain and
    troubleshooting.
  • An "AI-powered tool" choice in /start.
  • @vitest/coverage-v8, so pnpm test:coverage runs.
  • CI checks generated Worker types with wrangler types --check.

Changed

  • Dependencies to their latest versions: Vite 8, React 19.3, ESLint 10, Vitest 5, jsdom 30,
    Wrangler 4.145, @cloudflare/vite-plugin 1.62 and pnpm 12. @vitejs/plugin-react replaces
    plugin-react-swc. TypeScript stays on 6.0 until typescript-eslint supports 7.
  • CI and deploy: a verify job on pull requests and main, and a deploy job on main that is
skipped while the repository is a template. Actions moved to checkout v7, setup-node v7 and
    wrangler-action v4.
  • compatibility_date to 2026-09-30. wrangler.jsonc documents tracing, region placement and
    automatic resource provisioning.
  • Starter page redesigned as a live console that calls the Worker.
  • GitHub Pages site rebuilt around who the template is for.
  • Every guide, slash command and example rewritten against the Cloudflare platform as of
2026-10-04, including Sandbox SDK 1.0 and current Workers AI models.
  • /start restructured with verifiable completion checks; the quick start installs pnpm with
    npx get-pnpm.

Removed

  • The deprecated X-XSS-Protection response header.

Fixed

  • The streaming and Workers AI examples now compile.
  • AI templates no longer replace worker/index.ts, and model and prompt choices moved server-side.
  • A race condition in the /setup-database KV rate limiter.
  • Docs said pnpm deploy, which is a pnpm built-in; they now say pnpm run deploy.
