I would love to see a texture based on squares and or triangles. About the closest I can come in the current textures is using grooves, but I can’t create the equal spacing between the square or rectangular lines when I use that texture. This product that I designed in layering has 3.20 mm squares with a spacing of 3.20 mm between them on two faces. with them extending about 50% of the way up. I found that to get them to print well, I needed them to go to the very bottom layer so I could put a brim around them. But because of the nozzle size and the squares being a multiple of the nozzle diameter, they print really clean! I’m going to continue to design a set for the bathroom around this design. but doing it by hand is sort of rough! #1302

@MichaelDCarney2 thank you, and for the photos, that is a neat design! There is no square or triangle texture yet, but the hole pattern tool can do your squares: choose "Custom shape" and a 3.2 mm box from your scene, and it is repeated on the face in rows and columns; "Wall" sets the gap between them to 3.2 mm. For recesses instead of studs, pick square holes with their own depth. If layerling is useful to you, a small donation helps me keep improving it. Thank you! |

@MichaelDCarney2 henmedia's hole pattern idea works, and now there is also a real pattern for it: Squares and Triangles, which keep the size and the gap exactly as you set them. You can try them in my demo: https://marcus040473.github.io/?editor=1, and they go to henmedia as a pull request. For your bathroom set:
Triangles work the same way, in rows pointing up and down in turn. Raised or pressed in, both work. |
Uh oh!
