@forrrge hi, and thank you for the clear pictures, I could build it the same way. The group itself was right: Hollow takes a group apart into its shapes again to make the walls, and a cylinder in layerling is always round. Stretched only in its length, it took the new length as its diameter, which gave the dog bone. This is fixed for the next version: a cylinder that the group stretches more one way than the other now comes back as an ellipse of both sizes. I tried it with your capsule (two 30 mm circles and a box, widened from 70 to 100 mm): it hollows as a smooth capsule, and Ungroup gives two ellipses of 42.86 × 30 mm instead of circles. The same goes for chamfers and fillets on such a group. Until then, the Capsule shape you found is the better way anyway, as it stays one exact body. layerling is free, and if it helps you with your projects, a small donation is very welcome. |
Uh oh!

In the screenshot below, before I realised that there was a pill shape, I made the pill shape manually by using two circles and a square which I then grouped together (yellow image). Hollow works correctly 'before' I resize it.
I then resized it, and used hollow, as you can see in the middle red image, its acted as if the circles where the original size before I resized the whole group!
The bottom image is the actual pill shape with the same dimensions as the middle image, hollow works on this correctly.
