Idea for moving along XYZ Axis #909

@MartinShake thank you, a move that stays on one line is what helps most when aligning. Part of it is there already: hold Shift while you drag, and the shape moves on one axis only, the one you have dragged further in (X or Y of the workplane), and the other stays where it is. Press Shift once you are already dragging. Up and down goes with the black arrow above the shape. What there is not is a key that picks the axis for you, so that X always means left and right whatever way you drag. Is that what you miss, or does Shift choose the wrong axis for you? |

Hi Stephen
I have been thinking about moving objects in a drawing. How about this for an idea?
When you grab an object with the mouse you can move it anywhere in the XY plane. How about if you hit one of the XYZ keys and hold the mouse button, it just moves in that plane? It would be great for aligning things.
Hope you had a restful weekend!
Martin
