HyperFrames v0.9.0

Released on 2026-11-02.

Distributed rendering on AWS Lambda and Google Cloud Run now runs only on Plan v2. This is a breaking release: the Plan v1 transport, the planProtocol option and the Plan v1 event and result types are removed. A preview video that runs short of data now holds instead of looping snippets.

Upgrading from 0.8

  • Upgrade the SDK and the deployment together. Redeploy your Lambda stack or Cloud Run service from 0.9.0 when you move your app to the 0.9.0 SDK.
  • Drop planProtocol from renderToLambda and renderToCloudRun calls. Leaving it out, or passing "v2", works as before. Passing "v1" now throws.
  • Old Plan v1 events are rejected. A handler or service on 0.9.0 answers a v1 payload with PLAN_PROTOCOL_UNSUPPORTED before doing any render work.
  • Removed producer exports: plan, createPlanV2FromV1, publishPlanV2FromV1, readPlanProtocol, readPlanProtocolV1, PLAN_PROTOCOL_V1, CURRENT_PLAN_PROTOCOL, PLAN_SCHEMA_VERSION, PLAN_HASH_SCHEMA, PLAN_ARTIFACT_LAYOUT, DISTRIBUTED_RENDER_CAPABILITIES and getDistributedRenderCapabilities, plus their types. Use planV2, planV2WithPublisher or publishPlanV2FromExecutionPlan instead.
  • PLAN_TOO_LARGE and PlanTooLargeError are removed from @hyperframes/producer/distributed. The plan-size cap only applied to Plan v1, and Plan v2 never raises it, so drop any checks for that error.
  • Removed adapter types: LambdaPlanProtocol, PlanV1LambdaResult, CloudRunPlanProtocol, PlanV1ResultBody, and PlanV1Event, RenderChunkV1Event and AssembleV1Event from both adapter packages.

Fixes

  • Core: A preview video short of data holds the film instead of looping snippets (8519f2836, #6974).
  • CLI: Diff warns when yours runs at another frame rate (99223d993, #6976).
  • Core: A smaller preview copy nobody wants any more no longer swaps in (6bbda219b, #6973).
  • CLI: Diff stops counting a fast move as an extra cut (b1316e61d, #6978).
