SnapKey Map 1.2.0-beta.1
SnapKey Map 1.2.0-beta.1
An experimental Send screenshot to Mind Space action. This beta asks whether people want the feature before it enters a stable release. Hold to record is not included.
Try the action
- Install the APK over your existing SnapKey Map installation.
- Keep ColorOS's Snap Key action set to None.
- Pick Send screenshot to Mind Space under Screen & navigation.
- Read the consent dialog, then enable SnapKey Map Mind Space helper in Accessibility settings.
- Press the Snap Key on an unlocked, harmless screen. The helper should send the screenshot without another tap.
Access and limits
The helper is a separate accessibility service and is off by default. It uses window-content access to find and press Snap to Mind Space in ColorOS's screenshot preview. It does not save screen content itself. The main accessibility service still cannot read screen content.
ColorOS also saves the screenshot in Pictures/Screenshots. If the button is unavailable, the screenshot remains a normal screenshot. Mind Space handles the saved entry under its own privacy settings.
The consent flow and one real capture passed on a Find X9 with ColorOS 17. Repeated-use reliability, non-English UI, unsupported screens, and lock-screen behavior are unverified. This beta does not promise 90–95% parity with Oppo's action or approval from Google Play or F-Droid.
Before installing
This beta has versionCode 10191. Android normally blocks installing 1.1.0 over it. Uninstalling loses your configuration and READ_LOGS grant. A future stable 1.2.0 or later can update the beta without uninstalling.
Stable 1.1.0 remains the latest release. This beta is not submitted to F-Droid or Google Play.
Feedback
Reply on Send to Mind Space. Include your phone model, ColorOS version, whether an entry was saved, and whether you would use the action regularly.
v1.1.0
What's Changed
- Release v1.1.0 by @heykay-47 in #35
- fix(ringer): make the Vibrate confirmation distinct from Ring on ColorOS by @heykay-47 in #34
Full Changelog: v1.0.18...v1.1.0
SnapKey Map v1.0.17
New features
- Tap, then hold. This is a fourth gesture. Press once, then press again and keep holding. If you release the second press quickly, it still counts as a double press. Like Press & hold, it needs a phone that reports when the key is held. (#24)
- Only when unlocked. Tap the lock next to a gesture on the home screen. While the lock is on, that action doesn't run when your phone is locked, so presses in a pocket or bag do nothing. The press still shows in "Last:". (#25)
Fixes
- Keys typed on a keyboard no longer trigger your actions. This includes typing from a PC while the phone screen is cast. The log line the app watched for appears for every key, so the app now checks which key each line belongs to. (#27)
- With Shizuku, the ringer cycle works while Do Not Disturb is on. Before, Android reported Silent during Do Not Disturb, so the cycle always went back to Ring. (#23)
- Long action names on the home screen end with "…" instead of being cut off.
After updating
Teach the Snap Key again once. The home screen reminds you. This lets the app tell the Snap Key apart from other keys. Until you do, detection works as it did in 1.0.16.
Updating
Download SnapKeyMap-1.0.17.apk below and install it over your existing app. Do not uninstall first. The APK uses the same signing key as previous releases, so your mappings and granted log permission stay in place.
This release was tested on a Find X9. Behaviour on other devices and firmware may vary.
SnapKey Map v1.0.16
New features
- Turn off Show confirmations to hide ringer and Do Not Disturb pop-ups. Errors and permission reminders still show.
- Feel a distinct vibration for each ringer mode. Ring uses one long buzz, Vibrate uses three short pulses, and Silent uses a tick.
- Pause mapped actions while chosen apps, such as the camera, are in front.
- Choose paused apps from a bottom sheet with app icons and highlighted selections. Use Clear all to remove every selection.
Fixes
- Fix confirmation messages disappearing when SnapKey Map is in the background.
- Keep mappings paused in the camera when status-bar windows appear.
- Open phone Settings as a fresh task on ColorOS instead of returning to the last Settings page.
- Show an
sms:link example for opening a message with its text filled in. You still choose whether to send it.
Privacy
To pause mappings in chosen apps, the accessibility service now sees the foreground app's package name. It keeps only the latest package name in memory for that purpose. It still cannot read screen content. Your chosen paused-app package names are saved in settings.
Updating
Download SnapKeyMap-1.0.16.apk below and install it over your existing app. Do not uninstall first. The APK uses the same signing key as previous releases, so your mappings and granted log permission stay in place.
This release was tested on a Find X9. Behaviour on other devices and firmware may vary.
SnapKey Map v1.0.15
SnapKey Map v1.0.15 prepares the app for F-Droid submission. It is not published on F-Droid yet.
- Adds a GPL-3.0-or-later license and store descriptions, icon, screenshots, and release notes.
- Sets stable version codes so independent builders produce the same app version.
- Requires a clean unsigned rebuild to match the signed APK before a release can be published. Release checks also verify the original signing certificate and scan for known non-free classes.
App actions and setup are unchanged from v1.0.14. Install this APK over your existing app. Do not uninstall first. The signing key is unchanged, so your mappings and log permission are kept.
v1.0.14 - Ringer presets, native Silent and precise detection
New
- Ringer presets. Choose which modes the ringer action cycles through and in what order. The app starts with Ring → Vibrate → Silent, and you can edit it or add your own. Editing a preset updates every gesture that uses it.
- Oppo's own Silent mode. With Shizuku running on Android 15 or later, Silent uses Oppo's native Silent instead of turning on Do Not Disturb. Without Shizuku, Silent needs Do Not Disturb access and may turn on Do Not Disturb.
- More precise key detection with Shizuku. The app reads the key's real press and release events, so a long hold can't count as a double press. After updating, tap Teach the Snap Key again once to turn it on. Log detection remains the fallback.
- Adjustable timing. Set the double-press window (200–600 ms) and how long counts as a hold (300–1200 ms) from Timing on the home screen.
- Mute / unmute media action.
- Grant Do Not Disturb access with Shizuku, for phones where Settings blocks the switch.
Improved
- Run setup again is now at the top of Help.
Notes
- Install over your current version. Don't uninstall first. Your mappings and log permission stay.
- Keep Shizuku running for prompt-free detection and native Silent. If Shizuku stops, the app pauses until you allow Android's one-time device-log prompt or start Shizuku again.
- Tested on an Oppo Find X9 (ColorOS 16). Users have also reported the app working on the Find X9 Pro, X9 Ultra, X9s, X9s Pro and OnePlus 15R.
v1.0.13 - Support links
What's new
- Support the app. The About page has a new Support development section with Buy Me a Tea and Sponsor on GitHub buttons. They open in your browser. The app still has no internet permission.
- Website and README. Both now link to Buy Me a Tea and GitHub Sponsors, and the repository shows GitHub's Sponsor button. Website links into the README guide now open the right section, and the README has updated screenshots.
Install over the existing app. Your mappings and log permission are kept.

v1.0.12 - Shizuku log reading and setup wizard
What's new
- No more log-access prompts with Shizuku. While Shizuku is running and SnapKey Map is allowed in it, the app reads the log through Shizuku, and Android never asks for one-time log access. The status card shows "via Shizuku". If Shizuku isn't running, the app falls back to the normal method.
- The prompt appears on its own. Without Shizuku, the device-logs prompt now appears by itself after a restart. You only tap Allow, without opening the app.
- Use Shizuku button. If Shizuku is running but hasn't allowed SnapKey Map yet, the status card offers it.
- Setup wizard. It walks through 7 pages in order: method (Shizuku or computer), log access, accessibility, battery, notifications, teaching the key, and choosing actions. It shows your progress, picks up where you left off, and the main page appears when you finish. To run it again, open Help and tap Run setup again.
Install over the existing app. Your mappings and log permission are kept, and the wizard is skipped if you're already set up.

v1.0.11 - Help, status line and more actions
What's new
- Help. Tap the new help icon in the top bar for setup steps, troubleshooting and the safety facts, offline. The full FAQ is at https://heykay-47.github.io/SnapKeyMap/help.html.
- Know it's listening. The status card shows when listening started and when the app last saw a key press.
- Steadier listening. If log reading stops on its own, the app reconnects by itself.
- Simpler setup. The home screen shows one setup step at a time.
- More actions.
- Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and Internet panels.
- Media volume up and down.
- Call a contact, which opens the dialer with the number filled in.
- None of these needs a new permission.
- Search finds every action, including the ones under More.
Install over the existing app. Your mappings and log permission are kept.

v1.0.10 - Shizuku setup and security fixes
What's new
- Grant log access without a computer. If Shizuku is running, tap Grant with Shizuku on the log-access screen. The screen moves on by itself once the permission arrives.
- Fake key presses are blocked. Other apps can no longer trigger your actions by writing the Snap Key's log line. The app accepts the line only from the system. If an older setup learned a different log line, the app asks you to teach the key again.
- Safer actions. Shortcuts are cleaned before they open, links open in a browser-safe way, and direct-dial contact shortcuts show a message instead of failing silently.
- No backups. Your mappings and learned key are no longer included in Android backups.
Good to know
On ColorOS, if granting log access fails with GRANT_RUNTIME_PERMISSIONS, turn on Disable permission monitoring in Developer options and restart the phone. The setting only applies after a restart, for both ADB and Shizuku.
Install over the existing app. Your mappings and log permission are kept.
