When opening http://map.hotosm.org/ I get standard OpenStreetMap.org tiles and not the humanitarian map style. The tiles served are from openstreetmap.org.

Same goes for opening openstreetmap.org and choosing the humanitarian style.

Interesting. I am not sure we maintain map.hotosm.org anymore (I have never heard of it before :) and yes, you are of course correct, the HDM style on osm.org seems to be just the standard tiles.

OSM France (openstreetmap.fr) has always generated and hosted those tiles so not sure what might be going on.

Thank you very much for letting us know.

There was a hardware failure on SSD with HOT tiles cache on one OSM-FR server https://github.com/osm-fr/infrastructure.
I think the disk was replaced promptly but the entire database has now to be reloaded and services restarted.

@althio Thank you very much for the update! And thank OSM-FR for hosting those tiles!

Planet data is currently under reimport... then tiles will need to be regenerated.

I expect our humanitarian tiles to be back in a couple of days.

To avoid having blank maps during this outage, I've temporarilly redirected queries to OSM standard style.

Our server is aging (installed in 2012) and we plan to do a fundraising to upgrade RAM and storage (switch to NVMe) to use them for a few more years.

Humanitarian tiles are back !

I did some tuning which seems to provide faster rendering for missing/outdated tiles.

Thank you very much Christian.

Looking forward to the fundraiser, please make sure you share it far and wide so I don't miss it. OSM-FR provides a lot of services to OSM community, hopefully we all kick in a little to support and say thank you in a more useful way :)
