CanvasTTY 1.8.5-beta2 is a prerelease for testing the combined optimization and reliability changes.

  • Reduce repeated terminal rendering work, pinned-input updates and delivery-buffer copies.
  • Integrate and adapt PR #170 across macOS, Linux and Windows: preserve terminals through fullscreen changes, handle fast gestures, apply output backpressure, protect newer note edits and settings, and release browser/background resources. Keep platform-specific process cleanup and plugin installation behavior. Thanks to @teo-nex for the upstream fixes.
  • Preserve the final Unix PTY output when a process exits while reading is paused; resume reading before explicit termination. Windows ConPTY retains its own implementation.
  • Share prompt delivery across MCP, the control CLI and plugins. Observe Codex/Claude/Kimi pastes before separate submission, return partial-delivery receipts, and stop on manual input or restart. A successful PTY write still does not by itself confirm task acceptance.
  • Permanently cancel queued input once it reports timeout or cancellation, preventing a later startup from replaying it.
  • Restore selected-text Ctrl+C copying for the Windows keyboard preset while preserving custom shortcuts and the no-selection interrupt.
  • Add native launch-mode choices supported by the agent CLIs and apply configured Codex submit/newline keys to new or restarted cards.
  • Suppress approval notifications that disappear immediately, handle quota throttling, fix long Unix socket paths, and restore proportional workspace background coverage.
  • Keep protection, isolation and wheel inversion disabled for new profiles; preserve explicit saved choices. Pin Electron 43.8.1 on every platform.

Packaging and the full root test suite passed on Linux, Windows and macOS. Linux packaged startup and macOS packaged CLI resolution also passed. The separate macOS PTY checks passed 400 source and 400 packaged cycles. See the installer workflow and PTY validation.

Known limitations: macOS performance and real agent/clipboard behavior still need user feedback. HOME-region capture, sorting layout limitations and older nested Codex restoration issues remain open. This beta does not claim to resolve every reported slowdown.
