Bash driver: str variables can't start with 1

Using str argument does not allow str arguments to start with 1.

The regex for str is does not validate for strings list 1.1, 1.10, 1.something

I ended up changing the regex for string to match anything. This can cause problems when trying to differentiate between string and bool variables in bash.
