Outlink 1.0.0 Beta 1

Initial Android beta distribution of Outlink, a decentralized messenger supporting Bitchat-compatible Nearby Bluetooth mesh chat, encrypted private conversations, and public location channels through Nostr.

Downloads

  • Outlink-android.apk: signed standalone Android installer for direct testing.
  • Outlink-android.aab: signed Android App Bundle for Google Play Console; not directly installable.

Before installing

  • This is a beta, not a fully validated stable release. Bluetooth interoperability, background connectivity, and message delivery still require physical multi-device testing.
  • Bluetooth mesh delivery and internet relay connectivity are not guaranteed. Location-channel public messages are visible to participating relays.
  • The application ID is io.github.hsoc.outlink.
  • APK users may need to enable installation from their browser or file manager in Android settings.
  • Updates must use the same signing certificate. Debug-signed builds may require uninstalling before installation.

See privacy and network behavior and release testing guidance.
