Disktree v0.1.5
Disktree v0.1.4
Changes
- Move the complete scan index and pending directory queue to temporary SQLite databases with bounded caches, avoiding memory growth proportional to the full file tree.
- Keep directory paging, metric sorting, Unicode filename filtering, hard-link accounting, and exact removal validation.
- Add a 3.3 million-file memory regression gate and a native macOS window memory check that can include rescanning.
Measured memory
A local macOS run scanned an entire home directory containing approximately 3.3 million files twice. Peak sampled process RSS was 133 MB, idle RSS was approximately 130 MB, and peak physical footprint was 54 MB. These are observations on one machine, not a universal memory cap.
The complete index used approximately 435 MiB of temporary disk space. The measured initial scan took about 23 seconds and the rescan about 74 seconds; scan times depend on the filesystem and workload. Temporary indexes are discarded when no longer needed.

Disktree v0.1.3
Disktree now runs its interface and scanner entirely in Rust.
- Reserve native window-control space on both sides of the toolbar.
- Show permanent deletion actions in red.
- Replace the live scan path with an estimated percentage; show 100% on completion.
- Close View options by clicking outside the menu or pressing Escape.
- Include the NSH Linux and Windows fix that prevents content hover from revealing scroll indicators.
Download the archive for macOS or Linux and verify it against SHA256SUMS.
