Block Runner 1.0: from authored HTML to editable WordPress.
A design becomes much more useful when someone can keep working on it. Block Runner turns supported HTML and structured design intent into native WordPress blocks, reusable block source and whole-site bundles. Content stays editable in Gutenberg, with validation built into the workflow.
1.0 establishes a stable public CLI and JavaScript library contract. Future breaking changes require a major release.
What you can build
- Editable pages from HTML. Convert supported markup into native Gutenberg blocks, with warnings tied to the source and a deterministic validation gate.
- Reusable blocks from a design. Generate a named block with native editable content inside, styles and assets, then build it into a plugin. Preview and confirm the destination before writing.
- Native block themes and whole sites. Compile theme files and page content, review an apply plan, detect drift and pull supported theme edits back into source.
The CLI and library make no model calls. Use the built-in conversion rules directly, or give your existing coding agent the bundled skill to interpret a design and drive the workflow.
New in 1.0: finish the design in the browser
Visual finishing is now the default skill workflow for rendered delivery. The agent compares desktop and mobile output, corrects the authored source, regenerates through the validation gate, and verifies native editing, saving and reopening in WordPress. Passing validation is only part of delivering the design.
A clean comparison needs no correction loop. Source-only work, unavailable render targets and explicit skips remain supported, with the verification gaps recorded.
A tested foundation for 1.x
This release refreshes Gutenberg, React, browser and build tooling, including generated-plugin dependencies. All three audited dependency graphs report zero vulnerabilities, and all 63 conversion benchmark results are unchanged.
The full release matrix passed against WordPress 7.1.3, covering generated-plugin installation, native editing and persistence, pattern overrides, frontend behaviour and visual regression. A fresh install of the published npm package also passed CLI, typed-library and authoring checks, with registry signatures and provenance verified.

Verification scope
The release includes an artifact-bound, agent-assisted keyboard and focus review. Native WordPress editor accessibility findings are retained and matched against separate native controls; this is not a screen-reader certification or human owner attestation. Optional model benchmarks were not run. The optional handoff change in #201 is not included.
Changes: visual finishing #200 and dependency/runtime updates #202.
