Updates now reach the session daemon, and a new account keeps your settings without your keys.

  • After an update, the window went on talking to the session daemon the old version had started, so every fix that lives in the daemon — most of them — reached nobody until something unrelated forced a swap. The window now replaces any daemon that is not its own build. The price is stated up front: updating ends the sessions that were running, once per update, and this one is the first where it happens.
  • A new account takes the settings you already had — a preference you turned off, such as Remote Control at startup, no longer comes back on in an account Beacon made for you. What could hand over a credential stays behind: Claude Code's apiKeyHelper and similar helpers, any environment variable whose name looks like a secret, and a Codex config.toml that holds a token is not copied at all. A second account is a second credential.
