HENkaku 1.13
HENkaku 1.13: PlayStation Vita games on your jailbroken PS4, through Vita3K.
New in 1.13
- Motion sensor. The DualShock 4's motion sensor now works as the Vita's: tilt and turn the controller to tilt and turn the Vita in games that use it.
- Camera. Games that use the Vita's cameras (taking photos in Uncharted, for example) see the PlayStation Camera when one is connected. Without one they see your own picture (
/data/HENkaku/camera.pngorcamera.jpg) or a grey image. Choose in Controls > Camera: PS4 camera, Picture, Dark or Bright. - Fewer hitches in games with many threads (such as Street Fighter X Tekken): in the "One at a time" Vita core mode, a higher-priority thread now takes its Vita core at once, as on a real Vita, instead of waiting for a lower-priority thread that is busy waiting. If a game still hitches, try HENkaku > CPU > Vita core threads: Side by side. The diagnostics log now shows how long each thread waits for its Vita core.
New since 1.00
- Faster games (GPU work on its own thread, Fast system calls and Fast atomics in HENkaku > CPU).
- Uncharted's black boxes and garbage near water are fixed.
- The PS4's own keyboard when a game asks you to type; USB and Bluetooth keyboards work too.
- Themes (built-in, your own colours, PS Vita themes, wallpapers), 3D bubbles, the LiveArea cards home screen, and smoother menus.
- Fixes: R&C 2 sound (NGS pitch), L3+R3 menu deadlock, freeze on exit, touch pad pointer modes (Hover / Direct).
How to use
- Download
HENkaku-v01.13.pkg, copy it to your PS4 and install it with GoldHEN's Package Installer. - Start HENkaku. The first time, it downloads the PS Vita firmware and fonts from Sony's update server (or copy Sony's update files to
/data/HENkaku/installand install them like a game). - Copy your games (
.vpk,.zip,.pkgwith its zRIF, NoNpDrm dumps) to/data/HENkaku/installover FTP, press Triangle on the home screen, and install them.
Updating from an earlier HENkaku: install this package over the old one.
Needs a jailbroken PS4 with GoldHEN. No games, firmware or Sony files are included: bring your own games. Full guide, controls and FAQ in the README. Source: this repository (GPL-2.0-or-later, as Vita3K).
HENkaku 1.12
HENkaku 1.12: PlayStation Vita games on your jailbroken PS4, through Vita3K.
New since 1.00
- Faster games. Heavy games such as Uncharted run faster: GPU work goes out on its own thread, frequent system calls and the game's atomic operations (locks, counters) no longer stop the translated code, and a renderer slowdown that grew the longer you played is gone. Two new switches in HENkaku > CPU: Fast system calls and Fast atomics (both on; turn Fast atomics off if a game hangs where it didn't before).
- Uncharted's black boxes and garbage near water are fixed (GPU synchronisation on AMD).
- The PS4's keyboard. When a game asks you to type (a name, a save title), the PS4's own on-screen keyboard opens; Cross confirms on every console region. USB and Bluetooth keyboards work too.
- Themes. HENkaku > Themes (or Square on the HENkaku bubble): ten built-in themes, your own colours, installed PS Vita themes (from PKGj, or a theme
.pkgwith its zRIF), and wallpapers from/data/HENkaku/wallpapers, a USB drive or your PS4 screenshots, with a preview before you pick. - 3D bubbles that the game icons now fill completely (or Flat, if you prefer).
- LiveArea cards, a new home screen style: each game's LiveArea as a card, side by side.
- Smoother menus. The home screen and menus run at the TV's refresh without stutter.
- Fixes: R&C 2 sound (NGS pitch), L3+R3 menu deadlock, freeze on exit, touch pad pointer modes (Hover / Direct).

HENkaku 1.00
HENkaku 1.00: PlayStation Vita games on your jailbroken PS4, through Vita3K.
New in 1.00
- Everything in
/data/HENkaku. Your games, saves, firmware and settings now live in/data/HENkaku. Coming
from v00.xx, the first start moves/data/Vita3Kthere for you, with everything in it. - PKGj's "database disk image is malformed" is fixed. A game's file writes now go straight to the PS4's
storage, as on a Vita. Before, the last write to a file still open when the game ended could be lost. If PKGj
already shows the error, deletecomppack.dbandcomppack_updates.dbfrom/data/HENkaku/fs/ux0/pkgj/once:
PKGj makes them again. - Smoother frame generation on camera pans. In-between frames keep the picture whole when the camera moves:
no more speckle, torn patches or doubled textures, and fast pans no longer drop back to plain frames. - From v00.41: PKGj installs games. Its downloads come down in the background (the bottom right corner shows
how far along), carry on in HENkaku's home screen and install there by themselves.
