Switchya 0.1.0-preview.4 — Windows portable preview

A bug-fix update from a full audit of the app, CLI, agent tools and adapters.
It also includes the gateway fixes released as Switchyard 0.1.1. The ZIP
includes both the native desktop app and the Switchya CLI.

Changes

  • Security: the built-in agent's file tools refuse Windows 8.3 short names
such as GIT~1 or ENV~1. These aliases could read, search or patch
repository metadata and credential files that the tools block by name.
  • Antigravity conversations can be continued. A follow-up resumes the saved
agy conversation; if agy reports a different conversation, the run stops
for review instead of silently starting a new thread.
  • switchya agent run and agent continue work with managed Antigravity
profiles; they no longer refuse them for lacking a confirmed sign-in, which
    Antigravity cannot report.
  • switchya agent login works without the app open, says when a profile is
already signed in, and exits with an error when the sign-in fails or is
    cancelled.
  • Claude Code replies that follow a thinking block no longer appear twice.
  • Removing a profile can no longer delete a sign-in while leaving the profile
in place, and a removal that cannot be saved no longer stops the app from
    starting.
  • Project search skips an unreadable or reserved-name subfolder (reported as
omitted) instead of failing, and finds matches in large UTF-8 files.
  • switchya mcp --project . resolves the path against its own working
    directory.
  • Workspace: Ctrl/Cmd+Enter no longer starts a separate run in a conversation
that cannot continue; replace_all edits are labelled in approvals; a sent
task no longer reappears in New session; Changes recovers from a
transient error on the next refresh.
  • switchya-desktop.exe shows invalid command-line options, --help and
--version in a dialog instead of exiting silently.
  • The ZIP's README describes the current agent support, and the archive now
includes docs/MCP.md, which the packaged guides link to.
  • Gateway fixes from Switchyard 0.1.1 apply to the models Switchya reaches
through its built-in gateway, among them structured-output map fields on
Claude, Gemini object unions, Responses reasoning repair and credential
failover. See CHANGELOG.md in the repository for the full list.

Install or update

Close any running Switchya desktop or browser host, then extract the entire
ZIP into a new folder. Open switchya-desktop.exe, or run
switchya.exe serve to use the browser workspace. Both executables report
0.1.0-preview.4.

The preview targets Windows 10/11 x64. Install the
Microsoft Visual C++ v14 x64 runtime
and, for the desktop, Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime. This portable preview
is unsigned and has no installer or bundled runtimes. Existing configuration,
accounts and session data remain under %LOCALAPPDATA%\Switchya; no
credentials are included in the ZIP.

Read docs/SWITCHYA.md for setup, approvals, account selection and
recovery, and docs/ACCOUNTS.md for sign-in methods and profile removal.

Verification

  • The full Rust workspace suite passes on Windows (3,767 tests), and CI
passes on Windows, Linux x64 and arm64, and macOS arm64 and Intel, with
Clippy warnings denied. The workspace UI (82 tests), dashboard, packaging
    and website checks pass.
  • Antigravity continuation was verified live with these release binaries
(agy 1.3.5, plan mode). switchya agent run --agent antigravity read a
project file and answered. switchya agent continue resumed the same
conversation and answered from its context without reading the file again.
The browser workspace then showed both turns in one conversation and
    offered to continue it.
  • The release browser workspace loaded without console errors.
  • The other fixes are covered by regression tests that fail without them.
The Claude Code duplicate-reply fix, the sign-in changes and the macOS and
Linux terminal launch were not exercised live for this release.

Switchya 0.1.0-preview.3 — Windows app and CLI

Switchya 0.1.0-preview.3 — Windows portable preview

This update expands account sign-in and switching, adds Antigravity as a
third existing agent, and lets managed account profiles be removed. The ZIP
includes both the native desktop app and the Switchya CLI.

Changes

  • Sign-in methods: Codex profiles can sign in with a browser or a device
code; Claude profiles can use a Claude subscription, Anthropic Console or
SSO. Pick the method in Accounts next to Sign in.
  • Managed profiles can be removed from Accounts. Removal deletes the
profile's private CLI home (its stored sign-in), returns a removed default
to the Existing CLI entry, and is refused while the profile has work in
flight. Conversations that used a removed profile cannot continue.
  • Terminal account switching: switchya agent add, agent login,
agent use and agent remove manage profiles alongside agent accounts.
  • Antigravity (agy) joins Codex and Claude Code as an existing agent with
named profiles and saved conversations. Its runs use plan mode: it can
inspect a project and answer, but cannot apply edits. Antigravity exposes
no account-status command, so Switchya cannot verify its sign-in; sign in
from its own terminal (Open Antigravity on the profile card).
  • The built-in agent's "Connect a coding model" notice also offers the
existing Codex, Claude Code or Antigravity setup.
  • switchya.com corrections: Claude Code runs inside the workspace (the site
previously described it as external-terminal only), and the workspace
    section now describes account switching.

Install or update

Close any running Switchya desktop or browser host, then extract the entire
ZIP into a new folder. Open switchya-desktop.exe, or run
switchya.exe serve to use the browser workspace. Both executables report
0.1.0-preview.3.

The preview targets Windows 10/11 x64. Install the
Microsoft Visual C++ v14 x64 runtime
and, for the desktop, Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime.

  • Adapter, app and UI test suites pass locally (46 + 78 Rust tests, 78 UI
tests), with Clippy warnings denied on the touched crates.
  • The account lifecycle was exercised over HTTP against a locally built
host: create, select, remove (including the system-profile rejection),
default restoration and on-disk deletion of the profile home.
  • Antigravity was verified live on this machine (agy 1.3.5, read-only plan
mode): a real run read a project file through the app and completed with
its conversation ID recorded. Its stream-json protocol shapes are covered
    by fixture tests.
  • Sign-in methods are implemented against the installed CLIs' documented
flows (Codex 0.162.1 protocol schema, Claude Code 2.1.286 flags) and are
covered by fixture tests. A live OAuth sign-in was not performed for this
release; treat new sign-in flows as unverified until used.
  • Gemini CLI is not supported: Google has ended Gemini Code Assist for
individuals and directs users to Antigravity.

No Linux or macOS desktop binary is included.

Switchya 0.1.0-preview.2 — Windows app and CLI

Switchya 0.1.0-preview.2 — Windows portable preview

This update saves Codex conversations across app restarts and adds terminal
commands for listing, inspecting and continuing them. The ZIP includes both
the native desktop app and the Switchya CLI.

Changes

  • Saved Codex conversations retain their project, account binding and activity.
The workspace shows command, file-change and approval summaries.
  • switchya agent accounts, sessions, show, run, continue, recover
and interrupt use the same local host and saved conversations as the app.
  • Uncertain or interrupted work requires explicit review before continuation.
Exact edit and command approvals remain in place.

Install or update

Close any running Switchya desktop or browser host, then extract the entire
ZIP into a new folder. Open switchya-desktop.exe, or run
switchya.exe serve to use the browser workspace. Both executables report
0.1.0-preview.2.

The preview targets Windows 10/11 x64. Install the
Microsoft Visual C++ v14 x64 runtime
and, for the desktop, Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime. This portable preview
is unsigned and has no installer or bundled runtimes. Existing configuration,
accounts and session data remain under %LOCALAPPDATA%\Switchya; no credentials
are included in the ZIP. Use the new CLI with the new host when attaching
through an explicitly exported private launch-info file.

Read docs/SWITCHYA.md for setup, approvals, account selection and recovery.
Claude Code continues to open in its own external terminal; its conversation
is not tracked by Switchya and its subscription quota is unavailable.

Verification

  • Windows CLI and desktop release builds passed with locked dependencies and
Rust 1.95.0. Both executables report 0.1.0-preview.2.
  • All 14 CLI executable checks passed, including saved-conversation readback,
crash recovery, explicit review, host attachment and owned-host cleanup.
  • The desktop opened a responding window, loaded a saved CLI conversation,
preserved its recovery review, and served all 21 interface assets with the
expected hashes. Normal window close exited successfully and stopped its host.
  • All six CI jobs passed:
native workspace tests on Windows, Linux x64/ARM64, and macOS Apple
Silicon/Intel, plus formatting, warnings-denied Clippy and both UI suites.
The separate desktop shell is covered by the Windows build and runtime
checks above, rather than that workspace CI matrix.

Release source: 52200241784ca1b6171736688a52cfcae5b7c92f. It adds a user-guide
clarification to the CI-tested b085fa3; the compiled Rust and interface code
are unchanged.

The release checks use isolated local fixtures and submit no model turns.
They do not establish native webview interaction, clean-machine installation,
new account sign-in flows, cross-account switching or live Claude operation.
Earlier live checks covered one existing Codex account and six small tasks;
those earlier checks exposed the conversation-history loss fixed in this update.

No Linux or macOS desktop binary is included. The unresolved
RUSTSEC-2024-0429
advisory affects the Linux desktop dependency graph; glib is absent from both
Windows deliverable dependency graphs. The standalone Switchyard Gateway
remains a separate release.

Verify the ZIP and manifest against the attached SHA-256 file. The manifest
records the source revision and every packaged file's size and hash.

Switchyard 0.1.0

@krutftw krutftw released this 03 Oct 05:36

Switchyard 0.1.0

Switchyard is a Rust LLM API gateway with an embedded dashboard. It translates OpenAI Chat Completions, OpenAI Responses, Anthropic Messages and Gemini requests, supports streaming, and routes across provider credentials with cooldowns and failover.

This release completes the dashboard workflows for providers, credentials, models, routing, client keys, usage, requests, logs, configuration and the playground. It includes Responses over WebSocket, a Realtime relay, live dashboard updates, single-use browser WebSocket tickets, and improvements to access checks, input limits and secret redaction.

Download and run

Download and extract switchyard-0.1.0-x86_64-pc-windows-msvc.zip, then run switchyard.exe in a private working directory. First startup creates a configuration with fresh credentials and a mock provider. Open http://127.0.0.1:8317/admin/ to get started. Interactive terminals display the initial credentials once; redirected logs omit them.

The Windows x64 build requires the Microsoft Visual C++ v14 x64 Redistributable. Install it if Windows reports a missing VCRUNTIME140.dll.

Windows: the ZIP includes the executable, README, example configuration, documentation and license notices. The executable is not code-signed.

Linux x64: extract switchyard-0.1.0-x86_64-unknown-linux-musl.tar.gz, enter the extracted directory and run ./switchyard from a private working directory. The static-musl executable has no shared-library dependencies. The package includes the same documentation and a BUILD-INFO.txt recording the native Alpine compiler and verification.

SHA-256 checksum files are attached for both archives.

Verification

  • Windows workspace tests: 3,548 passed, zero failed or ignored.
  • Rust formatting, Clippy with warnings denied, generated API documentation check and UI checks passed.
  • Rust 1.88 minimum-version source check passed; dependency audit reported no known vulnerabilities in the locked dependencies at the time of checking.
  • Dashboard checked across 10 routes, four viewport widths and both themes; focused browser checks repeated against the packaged executable.
  • Packaged runtime: 11 checks passed, covering the four protocols with streaming and non-streaming, WebSocket ticket consumption and two-turn history, plus configuration persistence and reload.

These runtime and browser checks used synthetic credentials and the built-in mock provider. They do not establish compatibility with every live provider or a clean Windows installation.

Platform availability and operating limits

This release provides locally built and runtime-tested Windows x64 and Linux x64 static-musl binaries. Linux was built natively on isolated Alpine Linux with Rust 1.96.1 (actual compiler target x86_64-alpine-linux-musl); its package uses the conventional x86-64 Linux/static-musl platform label. The extracted package passed its startup smoke and all 11 protocol/WebSocket/configuration runtime checks. Native workspace testing initially exposed a paused-clock heartbeat test issue; after that test was corrected to measure real TCP time, all 11 tests in the affected suite passed.

macOS Apple Silicon and Intel: whole-workspace source checks passed for both targets using an SDK-free toolchain. No macOS executable has been linked or run. Linux ARM64, macOS binaries and container artifacts remain pending because GitHub Actions jobs could not start under the account billing lock. Other Linux distributions have not been runtime-tested.

Read the security model before deployment. The administrator and configuration directory are trusted; the dashboard stores its admin credential in browser storage, with persistent storage only when Remember is enabled. Provider accounts and remote file namespaces are shared unless you isolate them operationally. On Windows, private files inherit the working directory's access permissions.

@krutftw krutftw released this 03 Oct 09:45

Switchya 0.1.0-preview.1 — Windows portable preview

Switchya is a local coding workspace with a native desktop window, browser interface and terminal CLI. It includes its own agent engine and uses Switchyard Gateway for model access. The standalone Gateway remains a separate product and release.

  • Saved project sessions and app/CLI handoff.
  • Exact approval for proposed file edits and commands, with recorded output, interruption and explicit recovery.
  • Provider setup for OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini and local Ollama.
  • Named Codex and Claude Code profiles, separate defaults, and reported account status/usage where the CLI supplies it. Running Codex tasks retain their original profile.
  • Structured Codex runs in the workspace. Claude Code opens in its own external terminal; its conversation and actions are not tracked by Switchya, and Claude quota is unavailable.

Extract the ZIP and open switchya-desktop.exe, or run switchya.exe serve. This unsigned portable preview targets Windows 10/11 x64 and has no installer. Install the Microsoft Visual C++ v14 x64 Redistributable; the desktop also requires Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime. Runtimes and credentials are not bundled. User state defaults to %LOCALAPPDATA%\Switchya.

Verification

  • 88 Windows tests across the new engine, tools, adapters and host; all-target Clippy passed with warnings denied. All 56 frontend tests passed.
  • 91 native Linux tests and a native Linux desktop development build passed; desktop version/help returned successfully. Linux GUI interaction was not exercised and no Linux app release package is provided. macOS ARM64 and Intel app and desktop source checks passed; no Mac binary was linked or run.
  • Controlled browser tests exercised read, patch approval, command approval/output, denial without file changes, saved-session reload and CLI handoff. Four empty account profiles and both defaults survived reload.
  • Windows release CLI startup and model listing passed; all 21 served interface assets matched source. Desktop version/help and a responding window with a healthy local host passed. ZIP contents and executable hashes are checked during packaging; see the manifest and the platform report.

Real account sign-ins, simultaneous authenticated multi-account operation, live-model coding quality and actual Claude terminal use remain unverified. Native GUI interaction and normal window-close cleanup have not been independently exercised. Approved commands run with the user's OS permissions; a completed task is not proof its changes passed tests.

The Linux native GUI source currently retains RUSTSEC-2024-0429 in its GTK/glib dependency stack. Target-specific dependency checks confirmed glib is absent from both Windows deliverable graphs. No Linux app release package is provided; the platform report records this unresolved Linux dependency advisory.

The archive is labeled 0.1.0-preview.1; the executables currently report the core version 0.1.0. Verify the ZIP and manifest against the adjacent SHA-256 file. The bundled guides explain setup, sessions, account boundaries and platform evidence.

The public ZIP download was independently verified against SHA-256 ea313361bcdf7fa4c1b8a7d9bd17d5870d6301907b7825c6871b55310316c8da (20,335,861 bytes). The current platform report includes the Linux desktop result completed after packaging; the preview tag and downloadable assets are unchanged.
