v1.0.1 — packaging release
v1.0.1 — packaging release
No behavior changes. The published package now also ships the development tooling and
docs, so an installed plugin directory carries the same checks as the source checkout:
tools/self-check.mjs— end-to-end Dock check (node tools/self-check.mjs)tools/build-helper.sh+src/helper/— rebuild the native beacontests/— 18node:testunit testsdocs/icon-1024.pngandCHANGELOG.md
Install
dsh plugin --profile desktop add "github:ihodorchenko/dsh-dock-attention#v1.0.1"Requires macOS 12+ and DeepSeek Harness Desktop. After installing a bundle plugin,
fully quit and reopen the Harness app so the new bundle layer is composed at boot.
v1.0.0 — Dock attention for DeepSeek Harness
v1.0.0 — Dock attention for DeepSeek Harness
First public release of dsh-dock-attention: a DeepSeek Harness Host plugin that
bounces a Dock icon when the agent needs you and the Harness window is not frontmost.
What it does
- Approvals (
approval/asked), agent questions (ask_user_question,
exit_plan_mode) and finished / failed / blocked turns (turn/end) raise
attention only when Harness is in the background. While you are looking at the
window, nothing happens. - Subagent sessions, user-cancelled/forked/interrupted turns and rapid duplicate
events stay silent. - Ships the universal (arm64 + x86_64), ad-hoc signed DSH Attention beacon app.
It starts as a background agent (never steals focus), promotes itself to a regular
app so a Dock tile appears, bounces via AppKitrequestUserAttention, opens Harness
when clicked, and disappears when you come back or the time budget expires. - Configurable: per-kind switches,
critical/informationalbounce modes, time
budget, debounce window, optional sound, and browser bundle-id overrides for
dsh webusers.
Install
Plugin Manager / CLI:
dsh plugin --profile desktop add "github:ihodorchenko/dsh-dock-attention"Or point a profile patch row at the package / use the source archive below — see
README.
Requires macOS 12+ and DeepSeek Harness Desktop (or dsh web on macOS with the
matching activeBundleIds).
Verification
- 18
node:testunit tests: config normalization, session-event mapping, filters,
debounce, plugin wiring. node tools/self-check.mjs: end-to-end check that the beacon appears in the Dock
and exits on its own.- Live-tested against a running DSH Desktop: a subagent turn end launched the beacon
and the Dock tile bounced.
Known limitations
- macOS only.
- The bouncing tile belongs to the bundled beacon, not to the Harness icon itself:
Electron'sapp.dock.bounce()lives in the DSH main process and cannot be reached
from a Host plugin (see the README for the full technical explanation). - While the beacon is alive it is a regular app, so it is visible in the Dock and can
appear in Cmd-Tab. It never takes focus. - No notification or sound by default — pair it with a notification plugin or set
sound:.
