This thread is updated as the pledge unfolds. Tibo Sottiaux (@thsottiaux), who leads Codex / ChatGPT Work at OpenAI, pledged on 2026-10-04 that for the next 28 days his team would either ship one change that is a clear improvement for most Codex / ChatGPT Work users, or hand out a full usage reset each day. This post logs what actually shipped, day by day.
Over the next 28 days, each day we'll either ship one thing that is a clear improvement and relevant for most codex/work users or ship a full reset. Let the improvements begin.
Day 02 · 2026-10-06 · Reset + Improvement: Free Auto-review / simplified API tiers / Meetings plugin / Decisions API
Improvements (four shipped that day)
Auto-review is now free for everyone signed in with a ChatGPT account — enable it in permission settings to have a second agent review actions during long tasks, without drawing plan usage.
OpenAI API usage tiers simplified from five to three (Build / Launch / Grow); the new top tier, Grow, now qualifies with $500 in total API payments, down from $1,000.
Meetings plugin (beta) for the macOS ChatGPT desktop app, for Pro / Business: takes notes and saves a personalized summary and next steps to ChatGPT Space.
Decisions API in public beta: lets developers pick a model, tool, or action in near real time, up to 10x faster than GPT-6 Luna through the Responses API.
Reset
A full usage limit reset for everyone. Tibo's framing: four items were rated good to great, plus some math proofs, but the community vote was clear — “it seems that the game is rigged in reset's favor, but such are the rules at the moment.”
Day 03 · 2026-10-07 · Reset + Improvement: Banked reset / GPT-6 update with Intelligent UI / Codex Cloud over Tailscale
Reset
Banked reset for everyone — Tibo confirmed it “landed across all accounts.”
Improvements
GPT-6 update with Intelligent UI: a new GPT-6 version and Intelligent UI rolling out to everyone in ChatGPT, adding visual, interactive answers and tools for users' tasks.
Codex Cloud can now connect through Tailscale, securely reaching resources on your tailnet.
Day 04 · 2026-10-08 · Improvement: Instant steering + GPT-6.1 Sol ultrafast
Instant steering: steering now responds instantly to user adjustments for real-time course correction.
GPT-6.1 Sol ultrafast is rolling out in the API, Codex, and ChatGPT Work. Per the official changelog, availability is Pro $500 and eligible Enterprise / Edu plans (Enterprise is off by default and must be enabled by workspace admins).
Day 05 · 2026-10-09 · Improvement: Composer predictions / Dots upgrade / ChatGPT plans on Devin
Composer predictions in the Codex desktop app (beta): for Pro users, it suggests your next message based on the conversation and how you communicate with Codex — no plan usage consumed.
Dots upgrade: a dot can start and follow up on Codex work using context from ChatGPT conversations, Codex threads, and automations, and can review and edit Scheduled Tasks in ChatGPT Work. Dots can now also be created and messaged entirely from the ChatGPT mobile app (iOS / Android).
Use ChatGPT plans with Devin: connect a personal ChatGPT Go, Plus, or Pro plan to Devin, with GPT model usage drawn from your ChatGPT plan quota.
Day 06 · 2026-10-10 · Reset: global usage reset for all paid plans by end of day (no feature shipped)
Outcome: reset. Day 06 shipped no new feature. Instead it came with a global usage reset for all paid accounts on Codex and ChatGPT Work.
Tibo's posts were about as short as they get: first "Day 6/ Reset", then a minute later "Global reset by EOD. May the tokens do good things for you."
Not the same as the Day 03 banked reset: this one is automatic — it refreshes usage directly for eligible accounts, needs no manual redemption, and does not add a saveable reset to your bank.
Scope is paid plans. No precise hour was given — only "by end of day" (Pacific Time); the real confirmation is usage refreshing under Settings → Usage.
This is the second full reset of the 28-day sprint (Day 02 reset usage for everyone; Day 03 handed out a banked reset instead), widely read as a direct answer to the community's "ship a reset, not small features" feedback on Days 04–05.
Day 07 · 2026-10-11 · Improvement: GPT-6.1 Sol default context raised from 272k to 500k
Default context raised to 500k: in Codex and ChatGPT Work, GPT-6.1 Sol now defaults to a 500k-token context window, up from 272k — roughly an 80% increase.
The payoff is fewer compactions: a wider window means far less of a long task gets folded away into summaries, so context and nuance survive across longer runs.
Tibo calls 500k the carefully tested "sweet spot" for most users and says OpenAI will go higher in the future; users can still override the default up or down, and GPT-6.1 Sol supports up to 1M.
No long-context surcharge on subscriptions: alongside the change, OpenAI no longer charges long-context fees for GPT-6.1 Sol when usage is drawn from a subscription (pay-as-you-go API pricing is unaffected).
No reset that day — besides the resets on Days 02, 03 and 06, Day 07 was a pure improvement day.
Day 08 · 2026-10-12 · Reset: global usage reset announced, landing by end of day Pacific Time (no feature shipped)
Outcome: reset. Day 08 shipped no new feature. Tibo posted a one-liner, "Day 8/ Reset", followed seconds later by "Global reset landing by EOD PST time. Enjoy" — a global usage reset landing by the end of the day, Pacific Time.
Scope is all paid plans on Codex / ChatGPT Work. Like the earlier full resets (Days 02 and 06) it lands automatically — nothing to redeem by hand, and no saveable reset added to your bank.
This is the third full reset of the 28-day sprint (after Days 02 and 06), with the Day 03 banked reset in between; it comes right after the pure-improvement Day 07.
No precise hour was given — only "by end of day" (Pacific Time); the real confirmation is usage refreshing under Settings → Usage.
Day 09 · 2026-10-13 · Improvement: ChatGPT / Codex desktop apps expected to store ~60% less state on disk
Outcome: improvement. Storage optimizations have rolled out for the ChatGPT and Codex desktop apps and are expected to cut the state stored on disk by ~60% — Tibo's wording is "should reduce", so this is a projected figure, not a measured one.
Driven by power-user feedback: Tibo says the team had "heard enough feedback about power users running out of disk space" to make it the day's ship.
He calls it a "small ship" — one of the sprint's rare maintenance-style deliveries: no new model or feature, just a lighter on-disk footprint for the desktop apps.
Desktop apps only: the change targets the state data the ChatGPT / Codex desktop apps write to disk; Tibo notes no OS-specific differences and says nothing about RAM, app size, or pricing.
No reset that day (Day 09 is a pure improvement day, unlike Days 02, 06 and 08). The previous day's global reset did land as promised: Tibo confirmed "It's done." at 2026-10-13 05:06 UTC (2026-10-12 22:06 PT).
Not yet in the official changelog as of writing. Cross-check note: Tibo's post first went out labeled "Day 8/" and was edited to "Day 9/" 21 seconds later, so some third-party mirrors may still show the old label.
Day 10 · 2026-10-14 · Reset: global usage reset announced, landing within ~2 hours (no feature shipped)
Outcome: reset. Day 10 shipped no new feature. Tibo packed the joke and the delivery into one post: "The reports of my reset button being lost are greatly exaggerated / Day 10/ Reset."
Sixteen seconds later he added "Landing within the next 2 hours" to set the window, then confirmed it was live about 1.5 hours later with "Done and dusted" (2026-10-14 23:28 PT).
Scope is all paid plans on Codex / ChatGPT Work. Like the earlier full resets (Days 02, 06 and 08) it lands automatically — nothing to redeem by hand, and no saveable reset added to your bank.
This is the fourth full reset of the 28-day sprint and the third in five days (Days 06, 08, 10) — the reset rhythm resumed straight after the pure-improvement Day 09.
The "reset button" line is a callback to Tibo's own podcast remark that he keeps a physical button for resets ("I reset whenever I want"), so the post is a tongue-in-cheek answer to rumors that the button was lost.
The official changelog's only 2026-10-14 entry is "GPT-5.5 retirement in Codex" (GPT-5.5 retired from Codex for ChatGPT sign-ins at noon PDT; the API and API-key sessions are unaffected) — a retirement notice, not the day's ship, and Tibo never labeled it as Day 10.
Day 11 · 2026-10-15 · Improvement: far fewer "model is at capacity" errors, with stuck tasks resuming automatically
Outcome: improvement. The team landed a series of backend changes plus more compute to very significantly decrease the disruptive "Selected model is at capacity. Please try a different model." error in Codex and ChatGPT Work.
What happens after a failure changed too: when the error does still occur, the request should eventually continue on its own instead of staying blocked — Tibo's wording is "it should also eventually just continue by itself and not just block on it", so this is a projected behaviour rather than a hard guarantee.
He asked for reports: if you still hit the capacity error in the wild, let the team know and "we'll take a look".
This is the sprint's first availability- and capacity-focused ship, and the second engineering/maintenance-style day after Day 09 (desktop storage) rather than a new-feature day. It answers a long-running complaint: tasks interrupted by model overload even with plan usage still left.
No reset that day — Day 11 is a pure improvement day (resets landed on Days 02, 06, 08 and 10).
Posted 2026-10-15 15:11 UTC (08:11 PT), roughly nine hours after the Day 10 "Done and dusted" reset confirmation.
Cross-checks: the third-party tracker codex-resets.com classes Day 11 as an Improvement, and the community's running thread on community.openai.com logs it as "Ship 11". The official changelog's only 2026-10-15 entry is a routine Codex CLI 0.163.0 release — the capacity fix was not called out there.
Reception was mixed: on the tracker's community vote this entry sat at about 28% applause (478 for / 1,229 against), with many replies arguing it was a bug fix rather than a new improvement.
Day 12 · 2026-10-16 · Improvement: cache and context reuse lift effective usage, plus three more ships in the same thread
Outcome: improvement. The main Day 12/ post is about context and cache efficiency in Codex and ChatGPT Work: reusing context across subagents, keeping context cached longer, and better request routing to raise cache hits. The combined effect is more work done on the same plan — Tibo's wording is that it increases "the effective usage you get".
Effective usage, not a bigger allowance: plan limits themselves did not change. What disappears is the cost of re-reading the same context over and over, so heavy users should find their usage stretches further — but weekly caps are not suddenly doubled.
Three more ships landed in the same thread the same evening, making Day 12 a four-item package:
GPT-6 Astra Pro upgrade in ChatGPT: faster responses, more reliable plugin and tool use, and parallel agents — one task can be split across several agents whose progress you can follow in the conversation, with completed tasks opening for review. Rolling out to Pro users in the Chat tab.
Slides in ChatGPT Space: start a deck from a conversation, uploaded files, or an outline; edit text, images, shapes and charts directly or ask ChatGPT to change them; collaborate and comment in real time, present straight from ChatGPT, and export to PowerPoint, PDF, or Google Slides. For Pro / Business / Enterprise with Space access (web and desktop) — Tibo frames it as shipped while the team learns from feedback.
dots on the iOS Home Screen: after updating the app, a Home Screen widget opens your dot conversation (optionally with message and call buttons), and Shortcuts can open a dot in Messaging, Dictation, or Call mode — assignable to the Action button. Requires ChatGPT for iOS 1.2026.279+ and dot access on the account.
No reset that day (resets remain Days 02, 06, 08 and 10). Day 12 is the biggest single day of the sprint so far at four items, and the second multi-ship day after Day 05 where one main post carries a string of follow-ups.
Timing: the main post landed 2026-10-16 16:55 PT (23:55 UTC), with the follow-ups at 16:56, 16:57 and 17:15 PT — the Slides post has already crossed into 2026-10-17 in UTC, but it is still Day 12 in Pacific Time.
Reception says a lot about what counts as "clearly useful": on the tracker's community vote, the cache/context-reuse entry drew 625 for / 125 against (83%) — the only strongly endorsed item of the day — while the GPT-6 Pro upgrade sat at 245 / 372 (40%), and dots on the Home Screen at 58 / 615 and Slides at 51 / 514 (9% each). Users rewarded saved quota far more than new features.
Cross-checks: codex-resets.com classes Day 12 as an Improvement and logs all four items under it; OpenAI's own account announced the GPT-6 Astra Pro upgrade the same day; the official Codex changelog still ends at 2026-10-15 (Codex CLI 0.163.0) as of writing and does not list these changes separately.
Day 13 · 2026-10-17 · Reset: global usage reset for all paid plans (no feature shipped)
Outcome: reset. Day 13 shipped no new feature. Tibo's entire post was a single word — "Done" — confirming the global usage reset had landed.
Scope is all paid plans on Codex / ChatGPT Work. Like the earlier full resets (Days 02, 06, 08 and 10) it lands automatically — nothing to redeem by hand, and no saveable reset added to your bank.
This is another full automatic reset of the 28-day sprint, landing right after the pure-improvement Days 11 and 12. It brings the count of reset days to six (Days 02, 03, 06, 08, 10 and 13); among these, Days 06, 08, 10 and 13 are standalone full resets with no feature (Day 02 also reset usage but shipped four improvements, and Day 03 handed out a banked reset you can keep).
Community reception was strongly positive: on codex-resets.com's vote this reset drew 90% (1,535 for / 165 against) — more popular than most improvement days, a reminder that users value an actually-landed reset.
Cross-checks: codex-resets.com classes Day 13 as a Reset ("Usage limits reset for everyone"), and the official Codex changelog still ends at 2026-10-15 as of writing, consistent with a reset-only day.
Day 14 · 2026-10-18 · Improvement: edit previous messages within a desktop thread
Outcome: improvement. Tibo framed Day 14 as a small quality-of-life improvement: you can now edit a previous message within a thread in the ChatGPT / Codex desktop app.
This was a long-requested feature — Tibo's own words: "Long time requested, and took way too long to get that one out."
The change is about editing messages inside a thread in the desktop app; Tibo did not say whether it also reaches the web or mobile apps, nor did he mention any effect on context, billing, or model behaviour.
No reset that day — reset days remain Days 02, 03, 06, 08, 10 and 13. This is another engineering/experience-focused improvement rather than a new model, after Day 09 (desktop storage) and Day 11 (capacity errors).
Timing: posted 2026-10-18 18:18 PT (2026-10-19 01:18 UTC). Community reception was lukewarm: codex-resets.com's vote sat at just 8% (56 for / 626 against) — many felt the ship was too light to justify a day of the pledge on its own.
Cross-checks: codex-resets.com classes Day 14 as an Improvement under the title "Edit previous messages in desktop threads"; the official changelog does not list it separately as of writing.
Day 15 · 2026-10-19 · Reset: global usage reset for all paid plans (no feature shipped)
Outcome: reset. Day 15 shipped no new feature. Instead it came with a global usage reset for all paid accounts on Codex and ChatGPT Work.
Earlier that day Tibo posted a teasing "Day 15/ We're cooked", then walked it back with "Day 15/ Nevermind, we're still cooking... and reset. Enjoy." — formally meeting the day's pledge with a reset.
Scope is all paid plans on Codex / ChatGPT Work. Like the earlier full resets (Days 02, 06, 08, 10 and 13) it lands automatically — nothing to redeem by hand, and no saveable reset added to your bank.
This is another full automatic reset of the 28-day sprint, landing right after the pure-improvement Day 14. It brings the count of reset days to seven (Days 02, 03, 06, 08, 10, 13 and 15); among these, Days 06, 08, 10, 13 and 15 are standalone full resets with no feature (Day 02 also reset usage but shipped four improvements, and Day 03 handed out a banked reset you can keep).
Timing: posted 2026-10-20 06:33 UTC (2026-10-19 23:33 PT). Community reception was strongly positive: codex-resets.com's vote sat at 89% (1,328 for / 158 against) — more popular than most improvement days, again a reminder that users value an actually-landed reset.
Cross-checks: codex-resets.com classes Day 15 as a Reset ("Usage limits reset for everyone"), and the official Codex changelog still ends at 2026-10-15 as of writing, consistent with a reset-only day.
Day 16 · 2026-10-20 · Improvement: persistent caching in Codex & Work
Outcome: improvement. Tibo framed Day 16 around persistent caching for Codex and ChatGPT Work: for signed-in users, cache is now kept indefinitely, and when you return to an old conversation or resume a task after a few hours you are guaranteed a cache hit — no penalty for coming back.
The API side gains 12-hour prompt caching: developers can now cache prompts for up to 12 hours, cutting the cost of repeated calls.
This is the sprint's second cache- and effective-usage-focused improvement after Day 12 (context reuse and cache-hit gains) — same direction: help users "do more on the same plan" rather than raising the allowance.
No reset that day — reset days remain Days 02, 03, 06, 08, 10, 13 and 15 (seven days). This is another engineering/experience-focused improvement rather than a new model, after Day 09 (desktop storage), Day 11 (capacity errors) and Day 14 (editing messages in a thread).
Timing: posted 2026-10-20 18:10 PT (2026-10-21 01:10 UTC). Community reception was strongly positive: codex-resets.com's vote sat at 91% (471 for / 46 against), and the X post drew 4,114 likes — many readers saw guaranteed cache hits and surviving context in old conversations as a real quota saving.
Cross-checks: codex-resets.com classes Day 16 as an Improvement under the title "Persistent caching in Codex and Work"; the official Codex changelog does not list it separately as of writing.
Day 17 · 2026-10-21 · Reset: global usage reset for all paid plans (no feature shipped)
Outcome: reset. Day 17 shipped no new feature. Tibo teased it as "Day 17/ Bet you thought we forgot, but no, it's reset day today." (you thought we'd forgotten? no — today is reset day), then met the day's pledge with a global usage reset for all paid accounts on Codex and ChatGPT Work.
The post also nudged users to grab Daybreak Blue access (about 15 minutes, best sorted ahead of time so you're not scrambling mid-incident) — a security/incident-readiness reminder, not a feature ship; the day stays a pure reset.
Scope is all paid plans on Codex / ChatGPT Work. Like the earlier full resets (Days 02, 06, 08, 10, 13 and 15) it lands automatically — nothing to redeem by hand, and no saveable reset added to your bank.
This is another full automatic reset of the 28-day sprint, landing right after the pure-improvement Day 16 (persistent caching). It brings the count of reset days to eight (Days 02, 03, 06, 08, 10, 13, 15 and 17); among these, Days 06, 08, 10, 13, 15 and 17 are standalone full resets with no feature (Day 02 also reset usage but shipped four improvements, and Day 03 handed out a banked reset you can keep).
Timing: posted 2026-10-22 06:55 UTC (2026-10-21 23:55 PT). Community reception was strongly positive: codex-resets.com's vote sat at 86% (997 for / 166 against), and the X post drew 12,655 likes — again a reminder that users value an actually-landed reset.
Cross-checks: codex-resets.com classes Day 17 as a Reset ("Usage reset announced"), and the official Codex changelog still ends at 2026-10-15 as of writing, consistent with a reset-only day.
Day 18 · 2026-10-22 · Reset: global usage reset for all paid plans (no feature shipped)
Outcome: reset. Day 18 shipped no new feature. Tibo posted in the Pacific evening that the global usage reset would land the next morning — before 10am PST on 10-23 — and would arrive "together with a small ship".
Scope is all paid plans on Codex / ChatGPT Work. Like the earlier full resets (Days 02, 06, 08, 10, 13, 15 and 17) it lands automatically — nothing to redeem by hand, and no saveable reset added to your bank.
This is another full automatic reset of the 28-day sprint, landing right after the pure-improvement Day 16 (and the Day 17 reset before it). It brings the count of reset days to nine (Days 02, 03, 06, 08, 10, 13, 15, 17 and 18); among these, Days 06, 08, 10, 13, 15, 17 and 18 are standalone full resets with no feature (Day 02 also reset usage but shipped four improvements, and Day 03 handed out a banked reset you can keep).
Timing: posted 2026-10-22 21:47 PT (2026-10-23 04:47 UTC). Community reception was strongly positive: codex-resets.com's vote sat at 82% (881 for / 196 against), and the X post drew 3,007 likes — again a reminder that users value an actually-landed reset.
On the "small ship": Tibo's wording was that the reset would land next morning "together with a small ship", but he gave no specific feature that day. codex-resets.com still classes Day 18 as a Reset ("Usage reset announced"), and the official Codex changelog still ends at 2026-10-15 as of writing, consistent with a reset-only day. The Day 19 improvement content is covered in its own section.
Outcome: improvement. Tibo posted twice in the Pacific afternoon to define Day 19 as a set of engineering/experience-focused improvements:
Dots calls connect much faster: connections for dots now come up far quicker.
Switching reasoning mid-conversation no longer invalidates the cache: in Codex and ChatGPT Work, changing the reasoning model partway through no longer drops the cached context — you keep it even if you change your mind on the model.
Codex CLI updates: added reusable prompt presets, inline model and permission settings, and enterprise MCP sign-in; fixed failures when resuming long sessions; and added Windows corporate-proxy authentication. Tibo noted that Codex CLI usage has doubled (2X) since devday.
No reset that day — reset days remain Days 02, 03, 06, 08, 10, 13, 15, 17 and 18 (nine days). This is another engineering/experience-focused improvement rather than a new model, after Day 09 (desktop storage), Day 11 (capacity errors), Day 14 (editing messages in a thread) and Day 16 (persistent caching); it resumes the improvement rhythm after the Day 18 reset.
Timing: the main post landed 2026-10-23 16:12 PT (23:12 UTC), with the follow-up at 16:13 PT (23:13 UTC). Community reception was lukewarm: codex-resets.com splits Day 19 into two votes — "Codex CLI presets, inline settings, and reliability updates" at just 20% (62 for / 245 against), and "Faster Dots calls and cache-preserving reasoning changes" at 29% (98 for / 238 against) — many felt the ships were too light to justify a day of the pledge on their own.
Cross-checks: codex-resets.com classes Day 19 as an Improvement; the official changelog does not list it separately as of writing.
Day 20 · 2026-10-24 · Reset: global usage reset for all paid plans (no feature shipped)
Outcome: reset. Day 20 shipped no new feature. Tibo posted in the Pacific evening "By midnight PST" — confirming a global usage reset for all paid accounts on Codex and ChatGPT Work would land by the end of the day.
Scope is all paid plans on Codex / ChatGPT Work. Like the earlier full resets (Days 02, 06, 08, 10, 13, 15, 17 and 18) it lands automatically — nothing to redeem by hand, and no saveable reset added to your bank.
This is another full automatic reset of the 28-day sprint, landing right after the pure-improvement Day 19. It brings the count of reset days to ten (Days 02, 03, 06, 08, 10, 13, 15, 17, 18 and 20); among these, Days 06, 08, 10, 13, 15, 17, 18 and 20 are standalone full resets with no feature (Day 02 also reset usage but shipped four improvements, and Day 03 handed out a banked reset you can keep).
Timing: posted 2026-10-25 03:40 UTC (2026-10-24 20:40 PT). Community reception was strongly positive: codex-resets.com's vote sat at 89% (967 for / 119 against) — again a reminder that users value an actually-landed reset.
Cross-checks: codex-resets.com classes Day 20 as a Reset ("Usage limits reset for everyone"), and the official Codex changelog still ends at 2026-10-15 as of writing, consistent with a reset-only day.
Day 21 · 2026-10-25 · Reset: global usage reset for all paid plans (no feature shipped)
Outcome: reset. Day 21 shipped no new feature. Tibo posted in the Pacific evening "Day 21/ Wonder what happens the remaining seven days. But today is a reset." — confirming a global usage reset for all paid accounts on Codex and ChatGPT Work would land that day.
Scope is all paid plans on Codex / ChatGPT Work. Like the earlier full resets (Days 02, 06, 08, 10, 13, 15, 17, 18 and 20) it lands automatically — nothing to redeem by hand, and no saveable reset added to your bank.
This is another full automatic reset of the 28-day sprint. It brings the count of reset days to eleven (Days 02, 03, 06, 08, 10, 13, 15, 17, 18, 20 and 21); among these, Days 06, 08, 10, 13, 15, 17, 18, 20 and 21 are standalone full resets with no feature (Day 02 also reset usage but shipped four improvements, and Day 03 handed out a banked reset you can keep).
Timing: posted 2026-10-26 05:21 UTC (2026-10-25 22:21 PT). Community reception was positive: codex-resets.com's vote sat at 71% (624 for / 250 against), and the X post drew 10,686 likes with roughly 1.44M views — again a reminder that users value an actually-landed reset.
Cross-checks: codex-resets.com classes Day 21 as a Reset ("Usage limits reset for everyone"), and the official Codex changelog still ends at 2026-10-15 as of writing, consistent with a reset-only day.
Day 22 · 2026-10-26 · Improvement: GPT-6.1 Terra returns — stronger writing, personality and nuanced understanding, 2X the usage of 6.1 Sol
Outcome: improvement. Tibo framed Day 22 as the return of the GPT-6.1 Terra model: "Terra is back!" — OpenAI's first model that is significantly better at writing, personality, and nuanced understanding of requests.
Strong all-round, great at computer use: Tibo says Terra "packs a punch across the board" and is very good at computer use. It is the latest model / model-upgrade improvement of the sprint, after Day 07 (GPT-6.1 Sol default context expansion) and Day 12 (GPT-6 Astra Pro upgrade).
2X the usage of 6.1 Sol: across API and subscriptions, Terra grants twice (2X) the usage of GPT-6.1 Sol — a "more usage" benefit rather than a pure quality bump, and a concrete allowance win for heavy users.
No usage reset that day (the reset-day count stays at eleven: Days 02, 03, 06, 08, 10, 13, 15, 17, 18, 20 and 21). This is the sprint's return to improvement cadence after Day 19, and Tibo's first non-reset delivery in the "remaining seven days".
Timing: posted 2026-10-26 19:24 UTC (2026-10-26 12:24 PT). Community reception was mixed: codex-resets.com's vote sat at 57% (596 for / 447 against), and the X post drew 7,447 likes with roughly 638K views — lower than the pure-reset days, with some users caring more about an actually-landed allowance than a new model.
Cross-checks: codex-resets.com classes Day 22 as an Improvement ("GPT-6.1 Terra returns with improved writing and understanding"), and the official changelog had not separately logged it as of writing.
Day 23 · 2026-10-27 · Reset: global usage reset for all paid plans (no feature shipped)
Outcome: reset. Day 23 shipped no new feature. Tibo teased it as "Day 23/ Much requested iCloud Main & Calendar plugins. Just kidding, today is a reset. Still much requested though!" (you asked for iCloud Main & Calendar plugins — just kidding, today is a reset; but yes, those are much requested), then met the day's pledge with a global usage reset for all paid accounts on Codex and ChatGPT Work.
Scope is all paid plans on Codex / ChatGPT Work. Like the earlier full resets (Days 02, 06, 08, 10, 13, 15, 17, 18, 20 and 21) it lands automatically — nothing to redeem by hand, and no saveable reset added to your bank.
This is another full automatic reset of the 28-day sprint. It brings the count of reset days to twelve (Days 02, 03, 06, 08, 10, 13, 15, 17, 18, 20, 21 and 23); among these, Days 06, 08, 10, 13, 15, 17, 18, 20, 21 and 23 are standalone full resets with no feature (Day 02 also reset usage but shipped four improvements, and Day 03 handed out a banked reset you can keep).
Timing: posted 2026-10-28 02:43 UTC (2026-10-27 19:43 PT). Community reception was strongly positive: codex-resets.com's vote sat at 92% (1,477 for / 134 against) — again a reminder that users value an actually-landed reset.
Cross-checks: codex-resets.com classes Day 23 as a Reset ("Usage limits reset for everyone"), and the official Codex changelog still ends at 2026-10-15 as of writing, consistent with a reset-only day.
Day 24 · 2026-10-28 · Improvement: text your dot via iMessage / RCS
Outcome: improvement. Tibo framed Day 24 around letting you text your dot just like anyone else: "Text your dot just like anyone else. Makes it super easy to share/forward things, leave it voice notes or you can even go creative with 'Hey Siri, text Iggy to ' and sit back and relax." You can now reach your dot over iMessage or RCS to share or forward content, drop voice notes, or get playful — e.g. trigger a wild request hands-free with "Hey Siri, text Iggy to " and let it run.
Currently a preview rolling out to Pro users in the US: per codex-resets.com, the entry is a preview for US Pro users that lets them message a dot with tasks, photos and voice notes and receive proactive updates via iMessage or RCS. Tibo's post emphasized the three uses — sharing/forwarding, voice notes, and Siri triggers.
No usage reset that day — the reset-day count stays at twelve (Days 02, 03, 06, 08, 10, 13, 15, 17, 18, 20, 21 and 23). This is the sprint's return to improvement cadence after Day 22 (Terra), and Tibo's second non-reset delivery in the "remaining seven days".
Timing: posted 2026-10-29 01:49 UTC (2026-10-28 18:49 PT). Community reception was very low: codex-resets.com's vote sat at just 3% (19 for / 533 against) — most felt texting a dot is fun but does not clear the bar of a clear, broadly-relevant improvement for a day of the pledge.
Cross-checks: codex-resets.com classes Day 24 as an Improvement ("Text your dot via iMessage or RCS"); the official changelog had not separately logged it as of writing.
Day 25 · 2026-10-29 · Improvement: Pro 100/200/500 and Business Premium usage limits doubled
Outcome: improvement. No reset that day. Tibo made Day 25 a clear usage win: all usage limits for the Pro 100 / 200 / 500 tiers and Business Premium are doubled, effective today.
Pro 200 will not be reduced: Tibo directly addressed community worry — he confirmed the Pro 200 usage limit won't be lowered, so your Work and Codex usage stays the same (rumors had suggested Pro 200 would be cut back).
Extended dot limits continue: the team will keep offering extended limits for dots for now, and a dot's usage remains separate from your default usage, not eating into the main plan's quota.
Longer term, better models and efficiency still raise effective usage: Tibo closed by noting that beyond this direct doubling, the team will keep shipping better models and other efficiency improvements that lift effective usage over time.
No usage reset that day — the reset-day count stays at twelve (Days 02, 03, 06, 08, 10, 13, 15, 17, 18, 20, 21 and 23). This is the sprint's return to improvement cadence after Day 24 (dot texting), and Tibo's third non-reset delivery in the "remaining seven days"; like Day 16 (persistent caching) it is a direct quota gift rather than a new model.
Timing: posted 2026-10-29 16:56 UTC (2026-10-29 09:56 PT). Community reception was strong: codex-resets.com's vote sat at 78% (1,914 for / 549 against) and the X post drew 35,910 likes with roughly 4.4M views — a rare improvement widely seen as "weighty enough" for a pledge day.
Cross-checks: codex-resets.com classes Day 25 as an Improvement ("Doubled usage limits for Pro tiers and Business Premium"); the official changelog had not separately logged it as of writing.
Sources: Tibo's (@thsottiaux) day-by-day posts on X, cross-checked against the third-party tracker codex-resets.com/tibo-28 and the official OpenAI changelog. Entries for Day 25 onward will be added as the pledge unfolds.

Day 12 · 2026-10-16 · Improvement: cache and context reuse lift effective usage, plus three more ships in the same thread
Day 12/post is about context and cache efficiency in Codex and ChatGPT Work: reusing context across subagents, keeping context cached longer, and better request routing to raise cache hits. The combined effect is more work done on the same plan — Tibo's wording is that it increases "the effective usage you get".Links:
