Emu Loader 10.0.0 – first native 64-bit (Win64) release, built with Delphi 13.

el1000-win64.zip: full package (new installations). Extract it to a new folder.el1000upd-bin-win64.zip: update for an existing installation:EmuLoader.exe, the 64-bit7z.dlland updated docs. Back up your folder first.
The 64-bit Emu Loader needs the 64-bit (x64) 7z.dll, included in both packages. A 32-bit 7z.dll from older installations will not work.
First release built with Delphi 13 as a native 64-bit (Win64) application.
Full technical notes of the port are in docs/delphi13-port-notes.md.
Fixed
- MAME History is shown again with current
history.xmlfiles (also affected v9.0.1). - Games list readable in day mode when
ini_files\sysgamecustomfont.inidoes not exist (also affected v9.0.1). - Splash screen progress bar drawn black when the "Custom Colors" scheme has no colors set or the screen is narrower than 1280 pixels (also affected v9.0.1).
- MAME settings:
- Support for the decimal
audio_latencyvalues of MAME 0.278 and newer (0-50 frames,0.0default). - No crash with an empty language option or empty controller paths (
ctrlrpath); controller definitions are collected from every configured folder.
- Support for the decimal
- Game documents: HTML entities are decoded safely and history parsing no longer reads past the end of the file.
- Taskbar: a single Emu Loader button with the Emu Loader icon.
- Thumbnail view no longer crashes on very small images (e.g. 1x1 pixel snapshots).
- Incremental search no longer crashes after the search timeout.
- Main toolbar: correct fallback icon for empty arcade filters, readable labels on every button state, and transparent grayscale icons for disabled buttons.
- Checkbox and radio-button captions no longer overlap their glyphs, also in 4K layouts.
- Driver Status Filter: glyphs, icons and captions no longer overlap.
- Dialogs, errors and warnings shown during startup (for example the first-run "Scan Games Mode" screen or missing icon files) appear in front of the always-on-top splash screen instead of being hidden behind it, which made startup look stuck (also affected v9.0.1).
- The full package contains every file of the 8.9.4 distribution again (some icons were missing, so a clean install showed an error at startup).
- Help > Visit Homepage links updated:
- Emu Loader: https://emuloader.com
- New Forum entry (https://forum.emuloader.com) replaces MAMEWorld, which no longer exists.
- HBMAME (https://hbmame.1emulation.com), Supermodel (https://github.com/trzy/Supermodel) and X-Arcade (https://shop.xgaming.com).
Changed
- Ported to Delphi 13, 64-bit (Win64). The Delphi 7 project remains in the repository.
- Much faster exit with large games lists: closing Emu Loader with about 185,000 games went from about 40 seconds to about 4 seconds.
- Strings are Unicode (the native string type of Delphi 13).
- MAMu_ game icons (loose
.icoandicons.zip) load faster through a name index of the ZIP archive. - ZIP archives are read with the Delphi
System.Ziplibrary (replaces ZipForge). - PNG and GIF images are decoded with the standard VCL imaging units (replaces GraphicEx).
- Uses the Delphi built-in memory manager and standard exception handling (FastMM4 and madExcept remain only in the Delphi 7 build).
- The splash screen and About dialog show "(Pre-release)" beside the version only for pre-release builds.
Removed
- MAMEWorld entry in Help > Visit Homepage (site no longer exists).
Added
- MAMu_ icons from
icons.7z(the format MAMu_ ships): the archive is extracted once with7z.dlltocache\mamu_icons\and extracted again only when it changes. The 64-bit build needs the 64-bit7z.dll(7-Zip 26.04 x64, now included next to the executable, with its license indocs\7-Zip-License.txt); otherwise the one installed inProgram Files\7-Zip\is used. - Optional diagnostic log (
diagnostic.log), enabled in Preferences > General or with the--debug-logcommand-line option. It records startup, list loading, filters, game launches, dialogs, errors and shutdown timings, with one rotated backup (5 MiB each). Review it before sharing: it can contain local paths and game names.
