  • Python 3.10 or newer is required (3.9 is no longer supported).
  • The GitHub repository moved to imendezguerra/emg-tools. Old links redirect.

New

  • plots.plot_ch_map: plot one value per channel on the electrode grid, with bad channels outlined.
  • Documentation at https://imendezguerra.github.io/emg-tools/, with a worked example and figures, plus the full API reference.

v1.1.0

What changed

Breaking changes

  • Python 3.8 is no longer supported. Python 3.9–3.13 is supported.

Bug fixes

  • Filters now run along time (axis=0). Before, they ran across channels, so filtered output will differ from v1.0.
  • replace_bad_ch: fixed channel 0 being skipped and wrong averaging for grid data.
  • compute_rms: fixed edge NaNs and the window timestamps.
  • flatten_data_spatially: unmapped channels are now zeros instead of uninitialised values.
  • Plots: fixed log scale with zero values and the PSD units.
  • get_psd now returns a true PSD (periodogram, or Welch's method with welch=True). The old amplitude spectrum is now get_spectrum.
  • plot_spectrogram and plot_comp_spectrogram return an array of axes, one per channel.

Other

  • Added minimum dependency versions.
  • Documented the data format in the README.
  • Added a test suite and CI.
