General plugins that can go anywhere like you describe aren't feasible - I expect we'd probably have to rewrite the web UI from the ground up to accommodate something like that.
nb. this is already possible. And many of the other things you describe are either already available in third party integrations, or very doable to implement as a separate thing via Immich's API. |

I have searched the existing feature requests, both open and closed, to make sure this is not a duplicate request.

Add plug-in/add-on or API support for the web version of Immich, so anyone can for example, create a different 360 visualization; different maps visualization with the possibility of uploading kml or gpx files, use different map/tile providers, etc. This could enhance the development of the entire project having teams dedicated to each part/module of Immich.
I truly love Immich since the day I discover it, it has solved one of my biggest issues for sharing my family pictures with my relatives, for image management and browsing anywhere, and there is much room for improvement. I know the project is FLOSS, I tried to push an enhancement for the 360 viewer but found some justified resistance by the maintainers who argue how hard could be to maintain two different viewers. But with the verge of IA, development is no longer an exclusive thing for engineers and devs, anyone can clone the repo, do some personal enhancements and deploy the project in a personal server, but then the development stalls.
That is why I truly believe that either adding support for plug-ins or making some parts of the web interface a plug-in that can be switched, would make this project even better.
I for instance, would like to switch map/tiles providers, click on an image location deciding which map platform to go, be able to load either kml or gpx tracks, lines and poligons into the map, be able to search a location by name or by
lat, lonin the map, right clic on the map to get the coordinates add location data to a picture, etc. All of those things were possible back in the Picasa's days with the Google Earth desktop, that by the way, is going into the path of deprecation by Google.I hope you can consider this feature request or at least discuss it with the lead dev team, thanks for all the work done with Immich.
