Codex Fast Switch v0.2.5

Windows 更新至补丁 revision 7，macOS 更新至补丁 revision 10。本次将此前仅在 main 中的更新正式打包发布。

Windows

• 改善新版 Codex 的升级兼容性：校验官方签名和运行时版本，分别处理更新接口及外观变化；兼容性检查通过后才退出 App。
• 使用 App 原生更新按钮升级补丁副本，保留原有会话配置；修复重复更新提示和快捷方式指向旧副本的问题。
• 保留完整模型名（如 GPT-6 Astra）和实心 Fast 标识。Ultra 使用原生紫色；Fast 与模型名使用主题主文字色，深色主题为浅灰，浅色主题为深灰。
• 一键安装、卸载及稳定的 Codex Fast 启动入口；卸载保留 Codex 个人数据。

macOS

• 改善 Sparkle 更新后的补丁交接与重开流程，修复更新组件签名不一致问题。
• 使用固定的 Storage helper，保留本机签名身份，并适配已验证的新模型控件布局。
• 保留原有 App 启动入口，提供一键安装和卸载脚本。

安装或升级

重新执行 README 中的一键安装命令，即可更新补丁工具。Windows 也可下载下面的 install.cmd 后双击；卸载使用 uninstall.cmd。ZIP 内已包含运行依赖。

补丁工具升级与官方 App 更新分开：Windows 的官方包仍由 Microsoft Store 下载。Fast 请求发送 service_tier: "priority"，是否支持优先处理取决于模型和服务商。

Windows 26.911.61220（9647）已通过隔离副本的深浅主题与 Fast/Standard 请求验证。双平台安装包在对应系统构建并通过自动检查；实际 App 兼容范围及测试限制见 测试记录。

v0.2.4: persistent local signing

Fix repeated Keychain authorization caused by changing ad-hoc signatures. Patches now reuse one private local signing certificate, keeping the same designated requirement across updates.

First migration: when macOS asks for access to Codex Storage Key, choose Always Allow to authorize the new identity. Deny or one-time Allow does not establish persistent access. Unrelated macOS prompts are unaffected.

The dedicated signing keychain is registered in the current user's search list. Existing Keychain item permissions, the default keychain and system trust settings are preserved. The private key is non-extractable and sign-only. Local signing material stays outside the app, automatic-worker updates and release packages. Missing or mismatched identity files cause an error instead of silently generating a new certificate.

Verified on macOS arm64 with Codex 26.901.41600 (7982): 37 core/native tests, nine actual Keychain identity tests, 12 transaction/interruption tests, and the isolated App UI test. Two different signed builds can read the same dummy item without prompts; a different certificate cannot.

Use the existing one-command installer or Install or Update.command. Installation upgrades the patch to revision 4 without a stability delay. Details: persistent local signing.

Windows Preview

Windows support is available as additional assets on this release, built from commit 89a0d2fc5a4cf39492df22885fe224b86ef71227 on main after the macOS v0.2.4 tag.

• Download install.cmd for one-click installation or updates, including automatic patch monitoring.
• Download uninstall.cmd to quit local copies and remove Fast Switch installation files, while preserving Codex's personal profile.
• codex-fast-switch-0.2.4-windows.zip includes the tools and dependencies. SHA256SUMS-windows.txt contains their checksums.
• Windows Fast controls follow the macOS compact layout. The latest UI, setup and complete uninstall changes were not tested locally, at the user's request.

For the Windows source, use codex-fast-switch-windows-source.zip or the linked commit. GitHub's automatic source archives still refer to the macOS v0.2.4 tag. The existing macOS ZIP, installer and checksums are unchanged.

v0.2.3: Native compact model control

Match the native collapsed model control: full model name, a compact filled Fast icon, purple Ultra and the dropdown chevron. Model and effort remain dynamic, and Standard mode hides the Fast icon.

Existing installations upgrade to patch revision 3. Installation still applies directly and reopens the app without a stability delay or UI probe.

Verified on macOS arm64 with Codex 26.901.41600 (7982): 35 core/native tests, 12 transaction/interruption tests, an isolated UI test with local mock Fast/Standard requests, and restoration of the official app. Temporary UI tests now use a mock Keychain; this does not change production Keychain behavior.

Run the existing one-command installer or open Install or Update.command from the ZIP. README files are unchanged.

v0.2.2: One-command installation

Install or update with one command on macOS:

The script downloads the latest release, checks its SHA-256 digest, installs automatic patching, applies the patch and reopens the app. An already current patch is left running. The macOS ZIP also contains Install or Update.command for a single double-click installation.

Validated with 32 core/native tests and a real combined setup run. This release retains the filled Fast icon from 0.2.1. Patch recipes and transaction logic are unchanged. A suitable Node runtime is reused from your existing installation, Codex app or system.

v0.2.1: Filled Fast icon

Fast now uses the app's built-in filled lightning glyph in both collapsed model controls.

Existing patches upgrade automatically through their matching original backup. This release also includes the fix that prevents repeated restart commands from bouncing an already patched app.

To upgrade, unzip the new package, run Enable Automatic Fast.command, then Apply and Restart.command. Installation requests a normal quit, patches the app, and opens it again without a fixed stability delay.

Verified on macOS arm64 with app 26.901.41600 (7982): 29 core/native tests, 12 transaction checks, an upgrade from 0.2.0 with exact original restoration, and a loopback UI test of Fast and Standard. See the repository's tested-builds document for test details and limits.

0.2.0 - Apply and Restart

Run Apply and Restart.command to quit the official app normally, apply the patch, and reopen it. Installation no longer waits for a fixed stability interval or launches a temporary app for UI verification.

The automatic service listens for app exits, with a 10-second fallback poll. Existing original backups and failure recovery are retained. Re-run Enable Automatic Fast.command from this release to upgrade an existing background service, then run Apply and Restart.command to apply now.

Verified on macOS Apple Silicon with Codex desktop 26.901.41600 (7982): 22 core/native tests, 12 transaction checks, normal quit/reopen, exit notification, Fast/Standard requests to a local mock, and a temporary LaunchAgent. The isolated restart took 38.6 seconds from exit through window loading, including actual patch and startup work. Intel is included in the universal helper but remains unverified end to end.

The installer does not access your relay or send model requests. Fast throughput and pricing still depend on your API provider. This is an unofficial local patch with an ad-hoc app signature; read the README before installing.

Codex Fast Switch v0.1.0

Initial public release of Codex Fast Switch.

• Enable the existing Standard / Fast UI for API-key authentication.
• Keep using the normal app icon; optionally reapply compatible patches after updates.
• Verify whole-function structures, policy gates and real UI requests against a local mock.
• Retain complete original backups with atomic replacement and interruption recovery.
• Include English and Simplified Chinese documentation, CLI commands and Finder installer scripts.

Locally verified on Apple Silicon with app 26.901.41123 (7942): 15 core/native tests, 12 transaction checks, the complete UI installation/restoration workflow and a temporary LaunchAgent. The installed official app was unchanged. No private relay or API credentials were used.

Download the macOS ZIP and SHA256SUMS.txt below. The ZIP contains the project's source, npm dependencies and a universal native helper; it does not contain the official app or a Node distribution. Intel end-to-end behavior is unverified. Node.js 22.12+ must be available from the installed app or system.

This is an unofficial patch with an ad-hoc app signature. The release is not Apple-notarized. Read the README's signing and recovery limitations before installation. Future app compatibility and real API speed are not guaranteed.
