  • You can now import bookreader like so:

    import '@internetarchive/bookreader'  // ia-bookreader web component and window.BookReader constructor
    import '@internetarchive/bookreader/esm/plugins/plugin.text_selection.js'  // import specific plugins

    These import can be used in esm build tools like vite to correctly handle third-party package deduplication.

  • Breaking change: You can no longer import BookReader.js alone ; import ia-bookreader.js which defines window.BookReader

  • Breaking change: ia-bookreader-bundle.js has been renamed to ia-bookreader.js and now included BookReader core. You no longer need to import both, only ia-bookreader.js
