Beta 6 improves model rendering and adds weighted entity animation blending and Unihex GUI fonts. It promotes the changes through alpha134 since beta5.
Highlights
- Element rescaling now scales the correct axes for X and Z rotations and uses the actual rotation angle. This fixes distorted elements in previews and world section meshes, including resource-pack models with angles beyond the traditional 22.5° and 45° values.
- Element shading honors
shade: falsein block models, including merged, instanced, and world section geometry. It skips directional face shading while preserving tints, saved lighting, and ambient occlusion. Item previews retain directional shading, matching vanilla's treatment of the flag. - Animation blending lets
entity.playAnimationscombine clips on the same layer with explicitweights. Change their strengths during playback withentity.setAnimationWeights. Weights must be finite and nonnegative; they default to 1 and are not normalized. - Unihex fonts render GUI Unicode text from vanilla assets and resource packs. Unihex data loads only when earlier font providers lack a requested character, so default-font ASCII text avoids the archive download. Parsed data is shared, and glyph atlas pages are allocated on demand. TrueType fonts, translation keys, and right-to-left shaping remain unsupported.
