TesAir v1.0.5 — Clearer connection reports

TesAir v1.0.5 makes optional connection reports clearer and more useful, alongside the guided setup and illustrated iPhone pairing introduced in v1.0.4.

What's new

• Clearer dashboard status. See the latest observed activity separately from setup progress: stopped, waiting, browser blocked or video reported, with the observation time.
• Prompt connection reporting. Normal stops and connection changes upload when online. Old observations keep their original time.
• Precise browser issues. Decoder failures include the codec, video resolution and browser viewport. Recovery is confirmed by a new frame from the same browser.
• Automatic refresh. The connection dashboard refreshes on its own, so the latest status appears without a manual reload.

Update

Install TesAir-v1.0.5.apk over your current TesAir app, or use Settings → App updates. Your saved setup stays in place. Android asks you to confirm installation.

Technical reporting remains optional in Settings → Usage & diagnostics.

TesAir v1.0.4 — Easier setup and clearer iPhone pairing

Getting started is easier in v1.0.4, with clearer steps from installing TesAir to connecting your iPhone.

What's new

• Clearer onboarding: one next action at a time, with checks for the permissions your Android version needs.
• Visual iPhone pairing: a Bluetooth guide showing your Android phone's actual name. Saved hotspot details are sent to the iPhone automatically after pairing.
• Better connection recovery: Start CarPlay resumes the connection when automatic retries have paused.
• Updates inside TesAir: release alerts, a What's new summary and verified downloads. Your settings stay saved when updating.
• Optional technical reports help improve setup and connection reliability. Participation is your choice.

Download and update

Download TesAir-v1.0.4.apk below and install it over your existing TesAir app. No uninstall or setup reset is needed.

This release adds the updater. For future releases, open Settings → App updates → Notify me about updates to enable alerts. TesAir checks daily while running; Android asks you to confirm installation.

Bring CarPlay to your Tesla browser, powered by an Android phone.

What's new

• Less battery drain while parked. The WiFi radio now backs off when the phone is unplugged and no browser is connected, so the phone survives much longer in the car overnight.
• Wakes itself up. When the car powers the USB port again, the receiver restarts automatically — no need to touch the phone.
• Clearer frame-rate setting. The picture settings now label the options plainly as 30 fps and 60 fps.

Verified

Tested and running smoothly at 60 fps in a Tesla Model 3 (Highland, HW4), plus OnePlus 7T Pro and Xiaomi 12X phones.

Requirements

• An iPhone with CarPlay.
• An Android phone running Android 9 or later (it provides the hotspot).
• A Tesla with the AMD Ryzen browser (MCU3, ~2022 and newer, including HW4). Older Intel Atom (MCU2) and Tegra (MCU1) browsers are not supported.

Setup

1. Install the APK on your Android phone and follow its permission steps.
2. Turn on the Android hotspot and enter its name/password in TesAir once.
3. Connect the iPhone and Tesla to that hotspot. Pair the iPhone directly with Tesla Bluetooth for music and calls.
4. Open go.tesair.co in the Tesla browser and bookmark it.

TesAir v1.0.1

Fixes the car button in CarPlay to show the Tesla name and symbol. Existing installations using the default BYD name are corrected automatically; custom names and icons are preserved.

Install TesAir-v1.0.1.apk over v1.0.0 to keep your settings. Reconnect CarPlay once after updating to load the new name and icon.

Tested with automated Android configuration tests and release checks. A new in-car test of this patch has not been performed. Device compatibility remains verified only on OnePlus 7T Pro and Xiaomi 12X.
