WebHook v2.1.1 — Cipher negotiation fix (Unknown cipher)

Choose a tag to compare

@iobsifox iobsifox released this 17 Sep 14:54

Unknown cipher»

English

Patch release: fixes Connection failed — Unknown cipher on every connect. Electron's BoringSSL lacks chacha20-poly1305; the link layer now negotiates the AEAD cipher with a universal AES-256-GCM fallback and reports incompatible peers with a clear, translated error instead of crashing on the first encrypted frame.

⚠️ Upgrade BOTH devices to 2.1.1.

Contents identical to v2.1.0 feature-wise (new design, RTL, fonts, popup requests, Assist Relay internet mode) + this fix.

CI-built binaries are not code-signed — SmartScreen/Gatekeeper warnings are expected; verify integrity with SHA256SUMS.txt (sha256sum -c). macOS: right-click → Open or xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine.

Integrity: see SHA256SUMS.txt below · Full details: releases/v2.1.1/MANIFEST.md · Source repo: private; CI run on tag v2.1.1 (main 56713fd) ✅

WebHook v2.1.0

Choose a tag to compare

@iobsifox iobsifox released this 17 Sep 14:04

Source code is PRIVATE — this repo hosts binaries + checksums only. Verify SHA256SUMS.txt before installing.

New design (ObsiFox dark-navy system): frameless title bar, sidebar, hero & action cards, device cards, panels, status bar — with Ubuntu (EN), Vazirmatn (FA) and Google Material Icons bundled for full offline use. Switching to فارسی flips the ENTIRE app to RTL.

Popup notifications — incoming connection requests now appear as a dedicated always-on-top window (name, ID, address, 60-second countdown, Accept/Reject) even while WebHook is hidden in the tray.

Typed, translated errors — no more bare unknown during connect: bad code · not found · unreachable · timeout · rejected · relay down, each with a clear EN/FA message.

Assist Relay (Mode 4) — connect two devices on completely different internets (different ISPs, CGNAT/mobile). Run one tiny zero-knowledge relay (docker compose --profile assist up -d assist, port 8090) and set its address on both devices: Settings → حالت اینترنتی — رله امدادی → ws://:8090 → Test → Save. Then dial the 9-digit ID as usual — E2E encryption is identical; the relay only blind-forwards.

Quality: 226 tests green on Windows/macOS/Linux — all pipelines green. See MANIFEST.md for per-file install notes.

WebHook v2.0.5

Choose a tag to compare

@iobsifox iobsifox released this 17 Sep 11:53

Source code is PRIVATE — this repo hosts binaries + checksums only. Verify SHA256SUMS.txt before installing.

v2.0.5 — the missing wire (connection requests now actually arrive)

Bug fixed: since the first 2.0.x build, the client never opened a socket — no connection request could ever reach the person who left WebHook running in the background, not even between two PCs behind the same modem.

What ships:

  • Session Link engine — listens from app boot (TCP 47821 + LAN discovery UDP 47820), tray/background included
  • Real request flow — dial 9-digit ID (same LAN, no IP typing), WH1.… code, or host:port → Accept/Reject prompt on the partner's screen (60s auto-reject, rate-limited)
  • E2E encrypted session — X25519 3-DH → ChaCha20-Poly1305, anti-replay, safety number on both sides
  • UI — reachability badge, live dial states (resolving/dialing/ringing/connected/rejected), Devices tab with LAN peers, encrypted chat, EN + FA
  • Unattended — WEBHOOK_AUTO_ACCEPT=1 or --auto-accept

Quality: 219 tests (U/I/F/E2E/R) green on Windows/macOS/Linux — all Actions pipelines green.
Install: see MANIFEST.md. SmartScreen/Gatekeeper warnings on these unsigned CI builds are expected until code-signing is configured.
