Provide digital elevation heightmaps to an accuracy of three seconds in a format and with methods so that entry and intermediate level programmers may quickly and easily create new and interesting 3D cartography.
The data in this repository was sourced from Jonathan de Ferranti's web site: Viewfinder Panoramas.
- Jonathan de Ferranti's 3 second data set
- Supplies about one data point about every 90 meters
Ferranti's data was converted from binary HGT files to PNG files using GDAL and OSGeo.
And, of course, none of this would be possible without GitHub.
You have two ways of viewing the Jaanga Terrain files:
- GitHub Pages view: jaanga.github.io

There is much more information regarding this project at Jaanga Terrain.
