Third release of this fork of bolrog/d2dx.
Tested: CI builds it and the unit tests pass. On 1.14d under Wine (Proton) at 1128x752 the black edge patches are completely gone, and a cutscene played from the menus fills the screen width (both reported by the player; with the log showing the cutscene drawn at the full width of a 2256x1504 screen, aspect ratio kept). Not yet tried: an Act transition cutscene during a game and returning to gameplay afterwards, other game versions, native Windows and Windows 7/8.1.
Changes since 0.0.2
- Fix: black, tile-shaped patches at the screen edge at large custom resolutions. The embedded SGD2FreeRes (the resolution mod) is updated from 3.0.2.0 to the official 3.0.3.1, which extends its tile culling. On the test setup (1.14d, 1128x752) the patches are completely gone. Its own notes say rooms beyond the adjacent ones can still go unrendered, so some edge artifacts may remain elsewhere. Per its changelog the newer SGD2FreeRes also fixes a crash after Act transition cutscenes, a black rectangle on the Scroll of Inifuss screen, and a load failure on Windows 7.
- SGD2FreeRes is the official release with one 23-byte change: the name of its config file inside the DLL, so it reads D2DX's generated config. The unmodified release ignores it and crashes in the menus. A notice with the exact change and how to reproduce it is in
licenses/. - New: cutscenes use the full width of the screen instead of a 4:3 box (the picture keeps its aspect ratio). New option
nokeepaspectratio(config[optouts], or-dxnokeepaspectratio) stretches the whole game to the window. Ported from Jarcho's upstream pull request 186, with authorship kept.
