0.17.0 is about Custom processes (thirdshift process), an experimental command that runs Steps defined in a file in ~/.thirdshift/processes (#1402). Security runs also now close verified findings by default (#1433).

New commands

• thirdshift process lists process files. thirdshift process check <name> validates a file and prints the plan. thirdshift process <name> runs skill Steps in order in a throwaway worktree detached at the Base branch, then prints the last message (#1401, #1402).
• What a process file can do:
  • Command Steps run sh -c in the worktree with THIRDSHIFT_RESULTS_DIR and THIRDSHIFT_STEP_RESULT set. Optional Steps can fail without stopping the process (#1406).
  • Named throwaway worktrees and parallel groups that run consecutive Steps together (#1409).
  • issue <issue> hands the issue to session Steps via .thirdshift-issue.md, after an untrusted-edit check. Command Steps get THIRDSHIFT_ISSUE_URL (#1414).
  • run-published-issue starts a Ticket run or Spec run for the issue the previous session Step published (#1427).
  • An Issue-branch worktree with a delivery Step publishes a pull request through Delivery, leaves it ready for review and removes the Claim (#1426).
  • A self-merge Step after delivery merges when merge or merge_always asks. [limits] can only tighten: repair_cap, self_merge = false and protected_paths (#1431).
  • Per-Step Harness, Model and Effort. Omitted fields inherit the Command's choice. check prints each Step's choices, their origins and its startup result (#1404).
• A process started with no issue takes the Pass lock. It is skipped while another Pass runs, and a Pickup run is skipped while it runs (#1417).
• A process shows as Process <name> in status, show, the Inbox, Lanes and the Console. It sends a Run notification the way a Ticket run does (#1420).

Changed behaviour

• Skill lookup also checks ~/.thirdshift/skills/<name>/SKILL.md, after repository skills and before the thirdshift-<name> shorthand. A home skill is copied into the Factory skills folder and linked into every session that links Factory skills, including Ticket runs and Trials (#1413).
• Security runs close an addressed finding by default once its proof-of-concept check passes on the merged Base branch. no-security-close or close = false under [security] keeps it open. Fixing is still opt-in (#1433).
• The Inbox counts a ready Pass and its ready dispatched run on the same pull request once (#1430).
• Command details link a Security fix's advisories, with title and severity, even when the fix fails or is interrupted (#1440).
• The Details pane links an Experiment's Command record to its Experiment page (#1445).
• On desktop, Console Experiment Details stays beside the Trials grid and stays sticky while scrolling (#1437).

Also: release script and test updates (#1424 makes release Experiments opt-in with --with-experiment; #1429 and #1441 give timing-sensitive tests more time).
