Orbit: a game launcher for a whole machine
Finds installed games six ways and works out how each one has to be started:
- folders, by scoring the executables in each subfolder so crash handlers,
redistributables and mod tools lose to the game itself
- Steam, from libraryfolders.vdf and the app manifests
- Epic, from the launcher's install manifests
- Xbox, from each package's appxmanifest; these are MSIX-packaged, so they are
activated by AUMID rather than run, and the app id is not always "App"
- Roblox, from its versioned per-user install
- Prism Launcher / MultiMC, one entry per Minecraft instance
Playtime is measured from when a process first appears under the game's folder
rather than from when the launcher was poked, because bootstrappers exit, stores
patch before starting, and Prism runs Minecraft under its own Java.
Cover art prefers a user-supplied image, then whatever the source already knows
about, then an .ico, then the icon extracted from the executable.
