Web links in the sidebar and in popups
- Sidebar links and popup tiles can now point to any website, not only to pages of Home Assistant.
- Web links open in a new tab – Home Assistant stays where it is.
- Until you rename it, the entry shows the host name (e.g.
home-assistant.io) and an open in new icon. - Only
http://andhttps://addresses are accepted (max. 500 characters, no spaces or special characters). The same check runs in the panel, the frontend and the backend. - Header links and the favourites bar still stay inside Home Assistant.
Show a website inside a popup
- Popups get a third content type next to Links and Card (YAML): Website.
- The popup shows the page right inside Home Assistant, like a small browser window – e.g. Grafana, your router or a status page on top of your dashboard.
- The window is 900 px wide by default, 70 % of the screen high (max. 640 px). The header has an Open in a new tab button.
- The page runs in a sandboxed frame and cannot redirect Home Assistant itself.
- Many websites forbid being embedded (
X-Frame-Options/frame-ancestors) and stay blank – use a web link for those. Services in your own network often work when they allow embedding (e.g. Grafana withallow_embedding). - If Home Assistant runs on
https, the browser blockshttp://pages inside it. The panel warns you about this.
Hints you control
- The explanations next to the fields (Sidebar, Theme, Header, HA-Settings) are shown by default, each with a small info icon.
- Click the icon to fold a hint away. HA Style Hub remembers per browser which hints you closed.
- New checkbox on the Info page: Hide all hints in the settings columns, for the most compact view.
Devices & services: shadow of the rows
- New field Shadow of the rows in the group now called Border, shadow and corners of the rows, including the shadow designer (presets, direction, blur, spread, color, opacity, inset).
- Empty keeps your theme's card shadow, No shadow removes it – perfect for a clean multi-column list view.
- Also applies to the Apps list and to the entries on the page of an integration.
Mouse hover on the page of an integration
- The hover color of the list now also colors the clickable rows on the page of an integration (devices and the x devices row).
- The preview box Page of an integration shows the hover as well.
Notes
- Please hard-reload your browser after updating (Ctrl+Shift+R / Cmd+Shift+R).
- No configuration changes needed – existing setups keep working as before.
If you like HA Style Hub, I would appreciate a Star rating ⭐ from you.
This helps the algorithm to boost the Integration. Thank you.
