ttyd 1.7.8
TTYD with embedded Nerd Font support
This fork bundles a Nerd-patched JetBrains Mono web font directly in TTYD.
Safari and other browsers receive the font from the TTYD page, with no local
font installation or userscript required.
Install the raw binary (Linux)
The Linux binaries are self-contained release assets. Pick the asset for your
CPU (ttyd.x86_64 for most Intel/AMD hosts; ttyd.aarch64 for 64-bit ARM;
ttyd.armhf for most 32-bit ARMv7 hosts), then download, verify, and install
it. This example selects the common architectures automatically:
case "$(uname -m)" in
x86_64) asset=ttyd.x86_64 ;;
aarch64|arm64) asset=ttyd.aarch64 ;;
armv7l) asset=ttyd.armhf ;;
armv6l) asset=ttyd.arm ;;
i?86) asset=ttyd.i686 ;;
*) echo "Unsupported architecture: $(uname -m)" >&2; exit 1 ;;

base=https://github.com/jeeftor/ttyd/releases/download/1.7.8
curl -fLO "$base/$asset"
curl -fLO "$base/SHA256SUMS"
awk -v asset="$asset" '$2 == asset' SHA256SUMS | shasum -a 256 -c -
chmod +x "$asset"
sudo install -m 755 "$asset" /usr/local/bin/ttydStart a persistent shared terminal with tmux installed on the host:
ttyd -W tmux new-session -A -s sharedFor an internet-facing service, bind ttyd to localhost and put it behind an
authenticated HTTPS reverse proxy; -W alone does not provide authentication.
Install on Windows
Download ttyd.msvc.exe (or ttyd.win32.exe) from the assets below, rename it
to ttyd.exe if desired, then run it from Command Prompt:
ttyd.exe -W cmd.exemacOS
This release does not publish a native macOS binary. Use the Docker image below
on macOS, or build a native binary separately. Homebrew's upstream ttyd
package does not include this fork's embedded Nerd Font change.
Run with Docker
docker run --rm -it -p 7681:7681 ghcr.io/jeeftor/ttyd:1.7.8Open http://localhost:7681. The image starts a writable bash terminal by
default. Multi-architecture images are also published as
ghcr.io/jeeftor/ttyd:latest and ghcr.io/jeeftor/ttyd:alpine.
tmux in Docker
The supplied images intentionally contain ttyd, bash, and tini; they do
not contain tmux. Installing tmux in a derived image gives you sessions inside
that container only. To expose an existing host tmux session, run ttyd on the
host or deliberately configure access to the host tmux socket.
Other changes
- Added GitHub-only browser regression coverage for the embedded font and
single-cell Nerd glyph rendering. - Added weekly Dependabot updates and a reviewable upstream TTYD sync workflow.
- Hardened cross-platform release builds and publish images to GHCR.
