See a standing diff here which ignores whitespace:

Thanks a lot for these ongoing improvements ! I'd also like to summarize somewhere what we're doing here, such as in this page : http://www.orocos.org/wiki/main-page/development/roadmap/catkin-ros-build-support-plan

Or did I miss some existing plan ?

Ah that's a good idea.

Nope, currently the plan has been bottom-up based on experimentation. I documented some of the use here last night based on the modifications that have already been made:

https://github.com/jhu-lcsr-forks/rtt_ros_integration#building-ros-based-orocos-components

I can add this to the Orocos wiki page.

Right now I have travis test harnesses in place for isolated catkin builds (basically pure cmake) but it'd be good to have an autoproj-based test as well to make sure none of that breaks. Is anyone interested in writing that?
