Event Sending in Dev Mode

Fixed an issue where sending events would fail in dev mode when no event key was configured.

Problem: When INNGEST_EVENT_KEY was not set in dev mode, the SDK would make requests to /e/ (empty key path), causing 303 redirects and failed event delivery.

Solution: In dev mode, when no event key is configured, the SDK now uses "dev" as a dummy key. The Inngest Dev Server accepts any key value, so events are now sent correctly to /e/dev.

This fix applies to both:

  • SendEventAsync()
  • SendEventsAsync()
  • SendAsync<T>() (via extension methods)

No code changes required - just upgrade to v1.3.1.
